Fortunately, Apple provides a convenient shortcut that can be used to turn VoiceOver on or off at any time. This shortcut consists of clicking the Home button on the iOS device three consecutive times. You can enable the Triple-Click Home Shortcut by following the steps below:
VoiceOver is great for switch users, but for those who are used to touching the screen to access the device, the VoiceOver user experience may be a bit confusing. If a non-switch user (e.g., a friend or family member) wants to use the device, VoiceOver can get in the way.

The Tecla Shield has three input ports available for connecting standard adapted switches: Two dual switch 1/8” or 3.5mm stereo ports labeled 1 and 2, and one wheelchair port providing up to
f additional switch inputs through a DSub 9-pin connector (also
known as DB9), compatible with the directional controls available on standard powered wheelchair ECUs.
The Tecla Shield uses click and hold switch events to achieve full access to the iPhone and iPad with as little as a single button switch. The table below presents a summary of functions for switch ports 1 and 2 (referred to as SP-1 and SP-2).
SP-1 is optimized for full single-switch access to your iOS device,
while SP-2 is optimized for single-switch access to individual apps (e.g., alternative and augmentative communication [AAC] apps). Both switches can be used simultaneously for faster access. There are several ways to configure the Tecla Shield for two-switch operation. You can plug in two single switches (with mono 1/8” plugs) to SP-1 and SP-2, or you can plug in a dual switch (with a stereo 1/8” plug) to either SP-1 or SP-2. However, when using SP-1 and SP-2, the Tecla Shield recognizes a maximum of two discrete switch inputs.

When plugging dual switch interfaces, such as sip &
puff switches into any switch port, the Tecla Shield will
reconfigure itself automatically, making both sets of
switch functions available on the switch port used.
