and the game industry

Requirements of any EP seminar:
Writing
Minimum of 15 pages of writing that has gone
through at least one cycle of feedback and revision
We will fulfill this by two term papers
Oral expression
Minimum of 20% of class time devoted to student
writing and oral expression

attendance and participation (15%),
a midterm paper (6–8 pages, 20%),
an in-class presentation (20 minutes plus Q&A,

review of a commercial video game
exploration of some aspect of the social impact of a
game or of some genre of games in general
issues raised by some aspect of the game industry
or other topics of interest related to video games
Papers are to be of academic quality
based on at least some research
include critical analysis
