The MCCP provides foundational training to enable you to pursue a coding

credential and seek a facility-based inpatient or outpatient coding position.

The MCCP provides the training required for hospital coders:

Courses are taught through a combination of self-paced study with support of a certified

instructor. Students may contact their instructor at any time with course content questions

or to request a consultation to facilitate program completion.

Having and maintaining a coding credential is a sign of professional achievement.

Many

employers require coders to hold or achieve a coding credential as a condition of employment.

The task of maintaining coding credentials ensures coders keep current with critical coding updates.

Upon completion of the MCCP coursework, students are strongly encouraged to seek a coding

credential to demonstrate their professionalism and achievement.
