SFIVET‘s Master of Science in Vocational Education and Training (VET) is unique in Switzerland‘s education landscape. Graduates of the M Sc in VET programme are able to take on important managerial tasks and make valuable Research and Development contributions to the Swiss VET sector.

The degree programme is fully Bologna-compatible and builds from Bachelor‘s degree studies. Upon successful completion of the M Sc in VET programme, you are entitled to use the protected title “Master of Science in Vocational Education and Training”.

Your studies – built around time and career constraints

The M Sc in VET programme is applied, scientific, multidisciplinary, multi-lingual and part-time. It focuses primarily on aspects relating to economics, sociology, psychology and educational sciences. The wide range of fields in which future VET specialists will be called upon to work are interwoven in the studies in an optimal manner. The study programme therefore includes not only aspects relating to the economy but also aspects relating to humanities and methodology. In addition, we work with national and international partners to foster exchanges of opinions and knowledge. This ensures that students are exposed to current study content that is highly correlated to both research fin-dings and professional realities. The technical competencies of our professors are imparted to students using the latest methodological criteria.

Acting as an interface between scientific and professional circles, SFIVET en-sures that its study options bear a close correlation with practical realities. The content of all basic training and continuing training courses is systematically based on the results and assessments of its own research and development projects.

SFIVET is responsible for:

_ Education and training of VET professionals (upper-secondary level within the Swiss education system) at VET schools, host companies and industry training centres as well as the basic and continuing training of professional college teachers (tertiary-level B within the Swiss education system); _ Research and development projects commissioned by the Federal Office

for Professional Education and Technology (OPET), by Cantons, companies, trade associations and education institutions;

_ Advisory services and support to professional organisations, cantonal agencies and federal agencies in the drafting and implementation of VET ordinances and training plans;

_ Other services that are tailored to suit specific needs

SFIVET facilitates national coordination of the Swiss VET sector through its three regional campuses – one in the German-speaking region of Switzerland, one in the French-speaking region and one in the Italian-speaking region – as well as through its institutionalised networking ties with the VET sector’s three main partners (i.e. OPET, the Cantons and professional organisations).
