CHECKING YOUR MODEM CONNECTION
Lights on the front of your Internet modem are illuminated to indicate the modem is functioning properly. Use the Lights/Indications chart below to identify these lights and what they mean.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If you are experiencing trouble with your Internet service, use the following troubleshooting tips to try and fix the problem yourself.
LIGHTS INDICATION
Power Steady green means modem is on.
Cable or Sync Steady green means modem is connected to the cable Internet network. No light means there is no cable connection.
PC or Link Steady green means connection to computer is working. No light means the computer is turned off or not connected to the modem.
Data, Activity or
Traffic Flashing or blinking green means data is flowing to/from the modem.
CONFIRM THE CABLE SIGNAL
If you have cable television service, you can confirm that your cable signal is active by checking to see if your cable channels are coming in clear.
POWER CYCLE (RESET) YOUR MODEM
Given that your modem is always on, network maintenance or electrical storms can some-times cause modem errors. Over 90% of the time, resetting your modem can clear these errors. To reset the modem, simply unplug your cable modem, wait 30 to 45 seconds and plug it back in.

CALLING FEATURES GUIDE
CALLER ID
This service displays the name of the incoming caller on your phone if your phone has a Caller Display screen or Caller Display unit. Caller ID is a built-in feature with our Voice Service and does not require activation.
CALL WAITING
This service notifies you that a second call is on the line and allows you to switch between calls. You are notified by a tone when a call is waiting. Press flash-hook to swap between calls. Call Waiting is a built-in feature with our Voice Service and does not require activation.
SPEED CALLING
Speed Calling allows you to call frequently called numbers using a one-digit short code ranging from 2-9, or two-digit short code ranging from 20-49.
To configure speed calling:
• Press *74 for 1-digit short codes, or *75 for 2-digit short codes and listen for a stutter tone. • Enter the short code followed immediately by
the number that will be speed dialed and wait for a confirmation tone.
CALL FORWARDING
This service allows you to forward incoming calls to an alternate number. Options include Selective Call Forwarding, Busy Call Forwarding, and Unconditional Call Forwarding.
Selective Call Forwarding - This service allows you to select a list of phone numbers whose calls will automatically be forwarded to another number. To configure Selective Call Forwarding, press *63 on your phone and follow the voice prompts.
Voice & Advanced Telephone Services
ANONYMOUS CALL REJECTION
This service automatically rejects all calls from withheld numbers.
• Press *77 to enable Anonymous Call Rejection.
• Press *87 to disable Anonymous Call Rejection.
SELECTIVE CALL REJECTION
This service allows you to select a list of numbers from which incoming calls are to be rejected.
Busy Call Forwarding - This service forwards incoming calls to an alternative number only when your line is busy.
To configure Busy Call Forwarding:
• Press *90 and wait for a confirmation tone. • Enter the number to forward calls to. • Press *91 to disable Busy Call Forwarding. • If call is not answered, hang up and repeat the
process.
Unconditional Call Forwarding - This service forwards all incoming calls to an alternative number, without ringing your phone first.
To configure Unconditional Call Forwarding: • Press *72 and wait for a confirmation tone. • Enter the number to forward calls to.
• Press *73 to disable Unconditional Call Forwarding. • If call is not answered, hang up and repeat the
process.

To configure Selective Call Rejection via the Screen List Editing menu on your phone, press *60 and follow the voice prompts.

CALL BLOCKING
This service allows you to block outgoing calls of certain types of numbers from your line. The types of calls that can be blocked are International calls, Operator calls and Directory calls.
To enable Call Blocking:
• All calls except emergency calls, press *341 • International calls, press *343
• Operator calls, press *344
3-WAY CALLING
This service allows you to call another party during an existing call and add this party to the call, creating a three-way conversation. To add a third party to an active call, flash-hook and then dial the third party’s number. If the third party answers, flash-hook again to add both of you to the original call,
connecting all three parties. If the third party does not answer or their line is busy, flash-hook twice to rejoin the original call.
To disable Call Blocking:
• All calls except emergency calls, press *351 • International calls, press *353
• Operator calls, press *354
ADD VOICE MAIL FOR $3.95 PER MONTH
This service enables callers to leave messages on your line. The access number is *15. This is the code you dial in order to access your mailbox or leave messages for other people. The default PIN is 000000. You will be
prompted to change your PIN. Once access is completed the voice mail system will provide verbal instructions. You can access your Voice Mail remotely by dialing 704-230-0741.
