The Registration department of an ESIC/ESI hospital or dispensary is responsible for registering all patient visiting for treatment. Registration department will register all visits of patient & there department by allotting Unique Health Identifier so that all the services to the patient for that particular visit can be tied up.

There are three main kinds of registrations.

• Registration at hospital/dispensary: Outpatient registration. • Registration at hospital: Inpatient registration.

• Registration at Casualty/Emergency registration in the hospital.

The registration department is also responsible for statistical reporting, updating demographic details of patient, bill reimbursement.

When a Patient visits ESIC/ESI Hospital/Dispensaries the live list of the patient is checked to validate eligibility & other details, in case of Dependents/ Pensioner/ New Born whose name is not available in the live list validation is done with other document & if found satisfactory a UHID is created. The patient is asked to add the missing name in the live list. Till the Live list of patient is not updated the patient is supposed to show the UHID in all his/her visits & all clinical history will be save under the UHID. Once the live list is updated the system will ask to create a new UHID, hence this feature allows the existing UHID to get linked with the live list.

• Out Patient department is responsible for registering all patients who wish to visit a consultant in an out patient department. The Insurance/ ESIC Employee/ ESIC Pensioner/ IPU number is entered to check eligibility & other patient details. Once the details are validated the patient is referred to the consultant.

• Registration-OPD also gives a provision to check Super Specialty eligibility status of the patient. Based on eligibility a consultant can refer a patient to tie up hospital.

• Registration-OPD also triggers statically reports for the department.

• Inpatient department is responsible for registering all patients who are advised to be admitted into hospital for treatment by the OPD consultant or in the emergency by the casualty duty doctor, patients need to be registered as inpatient or casualty patient. The Insurance/ ESIC Employee/ ESIC Pensioner number is entered to check eligibility & other patient details. Once the details are validated the patient is admitted in the ward.

• This process also captures details of new born baby birth in the hospital by admitting new born babies by mother baby tagging.

• Registration-IPD also triggers statically reports for the department.

Visit details are captured such as admission type, referral source of admission, specialization, Unit name, Unit head name, and wards

name.

Once the patient details are checked and correct admission details are tagged to the patient, the admission number of the patient is

created.

This screen is used to view the bed wise status of all wards of hospital. It shows the count of vacant bed, allocated not occupied bed, release bed, occupied bed, release not vacant bed and bed to be cleaned. User is able to view the complete detail of occupied bed like patient name, IP no, date of admissions.

Patients who are in critical condition and need emergency medical attention come to casualty or brought to the casualty. When the patient comes or is brought to the casualty, his condition and criticality is assessed by the casualty doctor and prescribed the required treatment. Every person whether ESIC insured or not, the patient is given casualty treatment until his vitals are stabilized and his life has no danger. Depending on the condition of patient and if the patient has ESIC card, the doctor will recommend hospital admission. If the patient is not insured person then the patient will be discharged as soon as his vitals are stabilized, with an advice for hospital admission elsewhere.
