WELCOME TO THE 2012 WAIKATO CULINARY FARE

The Centre for Hospitality at Wintec, in association with Cater Plus Services, is again proud to host the annual Waikato Culinary Fare.

This is a wonderful opportunity for both secondary school students and junior hospitality people in the kitchen and restaurant areas, with a passion for hospitality, to display their skills, innovation and creativity. The Waikato Culinary Fare is designed to create a friendly local competition as well as being a stepping stone to the New Zealand National Culinary Fare held in Auckland each year.

This is the eighth year that Wintec has had an association with this competition and every year we see the standard of achievement increase. It is an opportunity for our state-of-the-art facilities to be put to fantastic use by offering secondary school students, tertiary students and industry professionals a taste of culinary competitions.

On behalf of the entire Centre for Hospitality team we wish all the best to the competitors. Sara Refoy

Head of School

School of International Tourism, Hospitality and Events

We would like to welcome all the competitors, teachers, families and supporters to the Waikato Culinary Fare, and wish that you have a very positive experience.

We continue to be impressed with the high overall standard of skills that the competitors display and the fantastic support and guidance they are given by their tutors and teachers. The Fare has grown each year and that is due to your continued support, and we thank you.

We would be unable to have this event if it wasn’t for the help and assistance from the following people, who give their time generously so our students can experience the fun of competing, we thank you.

Our teams of judges, Wintec Hospitality Tutors, The Wintec Technician team, all our sponsors and contributors. We hope you enjoy the event and we welcome any feedback you may have.
