Christ Community Church Building on the Word
Our Current Sermon Series
May 30 “The Joy of Sex and the Glory of God” (Part 2 – Song of Solomon for Single People) June 6 "Gender and the Glory of God"
June 13 “Holy Sex and the Glory of God”
Worship Venue Announcement Given r ecently r evised CDC guidelines
and the diminished need for social distancing, we’ll only offer the distanced/ masked C.A.A. worship option this week and next. Starting June 6, if you still want a bit of space between you and the next person, try the side sections of the sanctuary. Starting in July, we’ll all be in the C.A.A. for two air-conditioned services; the early service there is likely to allow for plenty of room.
What If The Sermon’s Not For Me? Now and then a ser mon or series
may not seem particularly relevant to you, at least not in your present stage of life. What do you do when that’s the case? Don’t absent yourself from worship! There’s more to the weekly gathering of God’s people than the sermon. And you can pray while the preacher preaches that God will bring the message home to the hearts of those who do need it – your brothers and sisters in the family of God.
We’re recording video! Star ting next week, May 30rd, our
media specialist, Steven Angelos, will be taking some video recordings during the worship service to be used as part of a promotional video for our church website. If you are uncomfortable with being on video, we would ask you to sit either towards the back on the far left or right sides of the floor, or in the balcony.
Children's Church Our sermon series Mother’s Day through Father’s
Day, “Sex for the Glory of God,” may be a bit much for children. Children will sit with their parents at the start of the service. Before the sermon each week in this series we’ll excuse children ages 4-year through grade 6 for age -appropriate teaching (also related to God’s design for families). Following the worship service, parents, please pick up their children in the in the following locations:
4th, 5th & 6th grade - in room 1 (Children's Wing) 1st - 3rd grade - in room 4 (Children’s Wing)
4 & 5-year old - in their SS classroom (Children's Wing) Nursery provided as usual for infants through age 3.)
Remember IN-TENTS? We are doing it again! It’s time to go camping
at CCC. The CCC campsite is 18 acres of beautiful woodland surrounded by a park right in the center of Zion. Yes, we are opening up the church grounds for you and your family to camp out a night or two over the July 4th holiday weekend. If you like camping with friends then you don’t want to miss the opportunity. More details to come.

Crazy Busy A (Mercifully) Short Book About a (Really) Big
Problem by Kevin DeYoung
Do you feel distracted, preoccupied with screen time, a slave to the urgent? Do any of the following describe you?
Power. “I need to stay busy because I need to stay in control.” Perfectionism. “I can’t let up because I can’t make a mistake.” Position. “I do too much because that’s what people like me
are supposed to do.”
Prestige. “If I keep pushing myself, I’ll finally be somebody.
I’ll finally matter. I’ll finally arrive.”
Hello My Name is Busy is the title of Chapter One of this book. Kevin DeYoung is candid about his own struggle with being crazy busy. This book is not as much about time-management, but rather a theological perspective.
Whether you are over-stressed, and super busy or sitting on the sidelines, this book will help give biblical insight into why we need to not let the important things slip away and steal our joy. With humor and honesty, Kevin DeYoung gives practical and biblical advice on how to find hope and rest in Christ, our true source of joy.
Great book. Easy read. Much depth. For those who read this book, I'd like to hear your thoughts, maybe during an

Before The Throne Of God Above
Verse 1
Before the throne of God above I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is Love Who ever lives and pleads for me My name is graven on His hands My name is written on His heart I know that while in heaven He stands No tongue can bid me thence depart No tongue can bid me thence depart Chorus
Hallelujah
My life is found in Jesus Christ Hallelujah
For I am His and He is mine Verse 2
When Satan tempts me to despair And tells me of the guilt within Upward I look and see Him there Who made an end to all my sin Because the sinless Savior died My sinful soul is counted free For God the Just is satisfied To look on Him and pardon me To look on Him and pardon me Verse 3
Behold Him there the risen Lamb My perfect spotless righteousness The great unchangeable I Am The King of glory and of grace One with Himself I cannot die My soul is purchased with His blood My life is hid with Christ on high With Christ my Savior and my God With Christ my Savior and my God Verse 4
I bow before the cross of Christ And marvel at this love divine God's perfect Son was sacrificed To make me righteous in God's eyes
This river's depths I cannot know But I can glory in its flood
The Lord Most High has bowed down low And poured on me His glorious love And poured on me His glorious love

How Can I Keep From Singing
Verse 1
There is an endless song Echoes in my soul I hear the music ring
And though the storms may come I am holding on
Chorus
How can I keep from singing Your praise How can I ever say enough
How amazing is Your love
How can I keep from shouting Your name I know I am loved by the King
And it makes my heart (want to sing)
Verse 2
I will lift my eyes In the darkest night
For I know my Savior lives And I will walk with You Knowing You'll see me through And sing the songs You give
Bridge
I can sing in the troubled times Sing when I win
I can sing when I lose my step And fall down again
I can sing 'cause You pick me up Sing 'cause You're there
I can sing 'cause You hear me Lord When I call to You in prayer I can sing with my last breath Sing for I know
That I'll sing with the angels And the saints around the throne
Ending
I am loved by the King And it makes my heart I am loved by the King
And it makes my heart want to sing Yeah I can sing
