To date, 40 Care Net clients have chosen life this year!
It has been quite a year full of overcoming challenges to save and change precious lives! I commend the Care Net staff, board of directors, volunteers and faithful supporters dedicated to providing services during this difficult time.
“And let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good
deeds” (Hebrews 10:24) was the scripture verse chosen for the 2020 Care Net Annual Banquet theme. Although the banquet was canceled due to coronavirus restrictions, the theme prevailed as our devoted Care Net family navigated these unprecedented times.
Let me expound.
In March, at the outset of the
coronavirus outbreak, the CDC suddenly revised its personal protective
equipment (PPE) requirements for medical providers. Acquiring proper PPE became nearly impossible due to the nationwide demand for such equipment. Our community of supporters including dental offices, business colleagues, health
professionals and numerous other individuals graciously came to our aid with donations of proper PPE allowing us to continue to offer pregnancy testing and ultrasound services to the most vulnerable to abortion.
Our operational staff stepped up as well working tirelessly to adapt and optimize our services with new features such as electronic forms, remote mentoring, sanitizing and proper use of PPE. These
clients’ needs in a safe environment. The Care Net development team and board of directors has also worked proactively to implement innovative ways to engage support in order to meet our operational budget for 2020. We launched our first-ever online event called “Help a Heart from Home” to replace our canceled in-person fundraising events. We also modified our baby bottle campaign to include virtual participation by churches whose attendance was impacted by the shelter -in-place orders.
And you, our faithful supporters—who partner with us through corporate sponsorships, the Champions for Life Society, monthly giving, individual giving and the Capital Campaign—have been strong and steady. Thank you for responding so quickly to our Urgent Appeal letter and for your participation in the “Help a Heart from Home” campaign.
I am encouraged by the love and good deeds our community of supporters has demonstrated in this difficult time. Let us continue to spur one another on to save many more lives this year and in the years ahead—until abortion is unthinkable for any woman facing an unplanned pregnancy. Thank you once again for your support of our ministry!

have been given life by Care Net clients since the inception of Nicholas’s Ultrasound Room
in 2006. The use of this “window to the womb” is a powerful confirmation of the beginning of human life and a significant tool for presenting life options to our clients.
You blew us away by your support of our first-ever virtual celebration and fundraising event! With a last-minute donation by a passionate supporter, this campaign reached its fundraising goal!
Your gifts will help to pay operational costs to staff and maintain our three Northern Kentucky
centers. This means that Care Net can continue to serve 500+ clients this year offering pregnancy testing, ultrasound confirmation, options counseling, one-on-one parenting education, materials support and so much more!
We are so thankful for your support and for the efforts of so many who have helped make this first-ever virtual campaign a success!
Our corporate partners graciously transferred their support from our in-person events to this new platform without hesitation.
Hundreds of donors came through early on in this pandemic to provide funds needed to bridge the gap between our originally scheduled Annual Banquet and this virtual campaign so we could remain operational in the interim.
In an incredible commitment of
support, the McKinley Family issued a matching
gift opportunity of $50,000, matching dollar for dollar your donations this year.
Our Annual Banquet table sponsors/hosts and Golf Outing team captains boosted this event by promoting it to their friends and family and re-committing their gifts from previous years. Friends old and new came together virtually in
this celebration of life by tuning into the event page to view video testimonials and the inspiring witness of our guest speaker, and to follow the campaign progress.
You are making a HUGE impact in the lives of those facing an unplanned pregnancy in this time of incredible uncertainty. Thank you for joining in this effort and for sharing our mission with others! With hope and trust in God, we look forward to our continued partnership in changing, saving and healing lives in the years ahead.

Legacy Gift to Dedicate Florence Medical Center as the
“McKinley Family Center” Honors Family’s Pro-Life Legacy
Care Net is most excited to announce the dedication of our Florence Medical Center as the “McKinley Family Center.”
The naming of our new medical center came about because of a legacy gift donated by Scott McKinley and the McKinley Family Foundation. This life-changing and life-saving gift formalizes the new center’s name. It is a gift in memory of Scott’s wife, Peggy, and his mother, Loretta (Laurie) McKinley, and all of their family members for their unwavering support of life and Care Net’s pro-life mission. The McKinley Family also makes this gift with the sincere hope that other like-minded donors will consider legacy gifts to Care Net as there are many other naming/recognition opportunities Care Net has to offer.
It is with heartfelt gratitude that we express our deepest appreciation to Scott McKinley and the McKinley family for this generosity and the continued affirmation of our mission.
For the last two years, Care Net has worked to develop specific naming and gifting opportunities for our major benefactors who are compelled to support our mission and have an interest in “Leaving a Legacy” to recognize a loved one or family member and their support of life. For more information in legacy giving, contact Lyndi Zembrodt at 859-431-9178 ext. 3 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

“I was 16 years old when I aborted my baby. Sixteen! The toughest choice a girl should make at 16 is what kind of prom dress she should wear, not do I keep this baby or end its life!?
I had to make the terrifying walk into the
abortion room all alone. Alone is how I felt from that day forward. I never spoke about it to anyone. It was as if that day NEVER happened and it was never to be brought up. Yet it was there and nobody knew. Nobody heard my cries. Nobody could feel my pain. Nobody cared that I was hurting inside.
I spent many years punishing myself for taking the life of my baby. I literally felt nothing! Emptiness engulfed my being and I could care less if I lived. I had many years of forgiveness to work through. Many years of self destruction to overcome and many years of

Care Net Pregnancy Services of Northern Kentucky is now offering virtual parenting education classes. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown, Care Net had to find new ways to meet the needs of our clients in our parenting education classes. Care Net staff worked diligently to impliment BrightCourse, an online platform that allows video lessons to be sent via email or text to the client’s cellphone, tablet, or computer. Until we are able to host in-person classes again, mentors and clients can meet virtually via secure video chats. Use of this technology has allowed us to serve a record number of clients in the past few months.
Thank you to Cross the Bridge for Life for their
generous grant to cover the cost to utilize this powerful virtual platform! Each year, Cross the
Bridge for Life hosts a collaborative event to raise awareness of the value of all Human Life. Due to the cancelation of their event in 2020, the group awarded financial grants to those in its Life Coalition of pregnancy resource centers. Be sure to mark your calendar for next year’s Cross the Bridge for Life on June 6, 2021!
Twin Miracle Babies
Due to the cancelation of our 2020 Annual Banquet, our scheduled guest speaker, Chrissy Stanley, spoke instead by video conference for the virtual
replacement campaign in July. Pro-life advocate, speaker and aspiring author, Chrissy travels the country sharing her story of overcoming adversity and being transformed by these experiences through the grace of God.
At twenty-one years old, Chrissy Stanley was
surprised to find out she was pregnant. Scared and overwhelmed, she decided to take matters into her own hands and end the pregnancy. Horribly, the abortion provider she chose botched the procedure. This experience left Chrissy deeply wounded - both physically and mentally. Subsequently diagnosed with pelvic inflammatory disease, Chrissy was told that should she ever get pregnant again, she and/or the baby would die.
A few years later, just shy of graduating college, Chrissy became pregnant once again. Shocked by this unplanned pregnancy, Chrissy’s boyfriend suggested an abortion so the two could proceed with earning their degrees and starting their professional lives undisrupted.
Chrissy, however, was quietly excited. She felt like God was giving her a chance to rewrite the wrong from her first pregnancy experience. Deciding that abortion was not an option and in an effort to convince her boyfriend of the same, Chrissy told him the truth about her past. Chrissy’s boyfriend was still not sure, however. He couldn’t imagine changing the plans he had for his life because of this
unexpected pregnancy. He believed abortion would be best for them.
Chrissy, meanwhile, sought help. In her online search of pregnancy resource centers that provide abortion education, ultrasounds, and prenatal parenting programs for families, Chrissy found Care Net. She made an appointment and brought her boyfriend along.
Almost immediately, Care Net volunteers saw how deeply hurt Chrissy felt about contemplating abortion again. They presented the couple with information about the life in her womb and talked about options instead of abortion, At the ultrasound appointment to confirm the pregnancy, Chrissy’s boyfriend seemed to have a change of heart. He remarked that if the ultrasound showed twins, he would have to think differently and they would just have to choose life.
As soon as the ultrasound image appeared and twin heartbeats flashed on the screen, Chrissy immediately
started crying, thanking God.
The next few months were hard as the couple began to prepare for life with their twin babies. Chrissy’s boyfriend was still scared and nervous, but Chrissy found peace trusting in God’s care for them. Care Net walked alongside the two of them providing encouragement, pre-natal and parenting education classes, and assistance getting necessary baby supplies. Soon, their twin daughters were born, prematurely, weighing only three pounds each. They quickly gained strength, grew, and today the girls are thriving 10-years-olds.
What started as a scary and seemingly impossible situation, has had a profound impact in Chrissy’s life. Unlike the trauma resulting from her abortion experience, the birth of her daughters has
transformed Chrissy into a strong, independent woman and mother. Today, Chrissy shares her story, speaking across the country, advocating for life. She wants young women to understand the damaging effects that abortion can cause and that no matter the situation, there is help. Because of organizations like Care Net, they have a place to go for information, resources and support.
Care Net is grateful to have been a part of Chrissy and her daughters’ journey. Because of her courage to be open to God’s forgiveness and grace, God has revealed miracles in her life. We hope that as she continues to tell her story, more women will come to Care Net for help and receive the same glimpse of life, hope and happiness.
