Feature Description Thin-Print Engine RDP Engine Desktop Engine

Driver Free Printing

One virtual printer driver, the ThinPrint Output Gateway, replaces all printer drivers on the printing server or desktop.

Advanced Adaptive Compression

Intelligent compression process that adapts to the print job content and the available band-width and reduces print data by up to 98%. The results are fast printing and no more bandwidth congestion because compression is applied at every point and with all protocols.

ThinShare

Compression anywhere the ThinPrint Output Gateway virtual driver is used, without addi-tional software installation. This enables the compression from a PC in a branch office to the central print server, for example.

Mixed 32-bit and 64-bit print environments

Reliable printing where mixed 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems are being used on servers, client PCs or virtual desktops.

Example: Migrating to 64-bit does not require any investment in new printer hardware, not even if there are no 64-bit printer drivers avail-able for existing printers.

SSL / TLS encryption

Transmission of print jobs with 128-bit encryp-tion and reliable protecencryp-tion of highly sensitive documents. ThinPrint software integrated into the hardware allows end-to-end encryption right to the printer.

encryptionRDP

Direct printing to thin clients, network printers and print boxes

Direct printing to thin clients, print boxes or network printers – either without a session

or over an existing one.

(2)

Support of remote print servers and print appliances

Direct printing via TCP/IP – compressed and optimized for bandwidth – to remote print serv-ers (e.g., in branch offices) or print appliances.

Optimized native printing

High-compression transmission of print data

also when using original printer drivers.

Support of various protocols when sending print jobs

Optimized transmission of the print data over the protocols ICA/HDX, RDP/RemoteFX,

TCP/IP, LPR/LPD.

Only RDP

Connection-oriented bandwidth manage-ment for print data

Unlike simple user-based methods, this never exceeds the defined maximum bandwidth for printing, not even when multiple users print at the same time.

Automatic printer mapping by AutoConnect

ThinPrint AutoConnect ensures that the desired printers are always available to users in ICA or RDP sessions or to those working on virtual or physical desktops.

Tracking Service/ Report Engine

Comprehensive collection and analysis of company-wide printing behavior and the resulting print costs.

Premium

Session-in-Session support

Automatic creation of printers in environments in which users connect to the target computers through multiple sessions.

Integration of central print servers

A central print server unburdens the application servers and virtual desktops and simplifies the

printer driver management.

Cluster support Highest levels of reliability from cluster support. Premium

V-Layer – optionally keep all clients and remote desktop servers free of printer drivers

Benefit from Driver Free Printing on remote desktop servers and clients: original printer drivers are kept on the central print server, indi-vidual machines only use the ThinPrint Output Gateway virtual printer driver.

(3)

Creation of a secure client-side print tunnel

Thanks to the ThinPrint Connection Service, network printers can be addressed in masked networks. Branch offices can operate without leased lines or VPN connection.

Premium

Centralized, dynamic setup and manage-ment of the print environment

ThinPrint Management Center facilitates the simplified, database-supported setup and management of complex print landscapes and gives a complete overview of hardware, drivers, clients and branch offices.

Premium

Support of the enhanced print options including finishing options

Thanks to the virtual printer driver, almost all print options and properties of the target printer – including finishing options of a multi-function printer like hole-punch, staples and binding – can be used in all IT architectures.

Centralized configuration via MMC

Centralized configuration through seamless integration of all ThinPrint controls as a snap-in

in the Microsoft Management Console.

Automated print processes thanks to VirtualCopy

With just one click, send up to five copies of documents to different printers in various quali-ties also enabling e-copy archiving.

Cloud printer

Cloud printing is fully independent of the remote desktop technology, also works from

native apps on the mobile devices (e.g., iPad).

Print-to-ePaper Print files as an e-copy (PDF) and sync them to mobile device like iPad.

Streaming print data

Printout starts immediately (as soon as the first page is processed and transmitted), not until after the whole print job is sent.

Trouble-free batch printing when using host systems

Thanks to the Host Integration Service, integra-tion of externally generated host print streams in Citrix XenApp and Microsoft Remote Desktop Service environments and secure transmission over the ICA/HDX or RDP channel.

(4)

ThinPrint

Font Management

Intelligent font management provides reliable printing results and significantly lower

transmitted data.

SpeedCache

Repeating elements in a print job, such as logos and fonts, are only transmitted once, which

significantly speeds up the printout.

Virtual Channel Gateway

Sends print jobs from central print servers through a virtual channel of an ICA/HDX or RDP connection to the clients when printing over TCP/IP is not possible (e.g., when printing in a home office).

Port Pooling Increased print performance through parallel transmission of multiple print jobs.

Dynamic Printer Matrix

Configuration table that IT can use to automate which client printers are mapped and which templates are connected to. This allows the creation of printers according to IP area, client, printer, class, or driver name. It also automa-tically detects whether it is a Windows, Unix, Java or other client.

One standardized interface (GUI) for all printers from all vendors

The ThinPrint Output Gateway virtual printer driver provides a standardized, user-friendly print dialog box for all printers. This reduces help desk calls.

Print data compres-sion in Wi-Fi networks

ThinShare relieves the Wi-Fi network too and avoids bandwidth congestion with high print

data compression rates.

Preset cost-saving printer settings

Presetting printer settings like black-and-white or duplex printing per user or group lowers the

print and paper costs.

Unsupervised installation

Unsupervised installation of ThinPrint compo-nents and license keys using Setup.exe or .msi file.

(5)

HTML5 license manager

Flexible management and activation of licenses in a clearly laid out HTML5

management console.

Support for Mac

In iOS environments, the ThinPrint client for Mac enables the receipt and decompression of print jobs and their forwarding to print devices.

Driver Free Printing for Mac

Printer settings are carried over from the Mac

client printers.

Support for Linux clients

The ThinPrint Linux client allows Linux clients to forward print jobs from network printers directly to internal and external print servers LPR/LPD.

User-defined compression

Within the compression levels preset by the administrator, users can adjust specific compression settings in a session.
