I chose to come to Bromley’s 14-16 College because I liked the fact you could study for GCSEs, but could combine this with a vocational subject. I get so much support here and its very friendly too. I want to pass all my GCSEs and then go on to become a mechanic with my own garage - or perhaps, a stockbroker!

Joe

At Bromley College we recognise that for some students learning in an academic environment can be less stimulating than learning in a practical setting with hands-on activities. That’s why we have concentrated on putting together programmes that will suit students who have their sights set on a particular career path.

We offer every student the chance to study in a mature environment and to develop the skills needed to progress at 16. The College has the same expectations and standards as school, however in most cases the classes are smaller and each class will contain students who have come from a variety of local schools. Our students are treated as young adults and are expected to behave in an appropriate manner, they learn to be more mature and develop a stronger personal identity as a result. Our staff have a wealth of teaching experience from both vocational and traditional school backgrounds, as well as experience in the workplace, which enables them to spot talent and develop skills successfully.

A Safe Place

to Study

At Bromley College we take the safeguarding of our young people very seriously. We are experienced in looking after 14-year old students and have robust and established policies and processes in place.

A dedicated area is provided for the sole use of 14-16 students. Students will have access to other areas of the College to suit their studies. Students wear a school uniform which clearly identifies them as part of the 14-16 College.

Our team of experienced staff will tutor, teach and support the learning of our 14-16 year old students. Extra curricular activities and trips will help boost self-confidence and social skills.

We recognise that from time to time, students will need emotional support when in College. Sometimes this will just result in an informal chat with a member of staff, sometimes it may help to involve a student counsellor who can deal with bigger issues.
