Abstract— Nowadays android technology with many web application and services changed the life of people on large

extent. Today’s scenario is that each and every person has android mobile with internet connectivity. This application provides effective solution to monitor the various task related to academics. This system is used to keep systematic record of student details, like their personal details, marks details, fees details, staff can maintain the record of students achievement and attendance details. It is also useful for principal , HOD's , and faculties so that they can access student record in single click.

Keywords- Automation, Android, Connectivity, Records, Scheduling.

1.INTRODUCTION

College Automation and Scheduling system is very important component for colleges, schools and universities. By using this system it is very easy and convenient to gather the information of particular student within few clicks. The notices generated in college are first verified by principal and it proceed to further. With the help of this web application and android app, we can keep the systematic record of student details, fees details ,marksheets , attendance and staff can easily recognize defaulter list within a single click. The system reduces paperwork and time needed for accessing student records. This paper provides facilities like attendance, supervising, receiving notices and notes, result viewing that reducing the paperwork. This system is used by principal, staffs, students. As it is android based system, it creates the smart connectivity between the student and teacher. This system can be use from anywhere if students, teachers not present in college.

Hence, the project introduces a manageable and systematic approach of maintaing student and staff records.

2. CONCEPT

College automation system is useful for student for to take view notice, view attendance, give feedback and also view documents, view marksheets uploaded by the staff, because of this system the record can be manage in less time without paperwork. Admin can easily find information of any student within a few clicks. We have developed or working of the system on role based access such as student, staff, principle having separate email id, password.

3. LITERATURE REVIEW

The application offers reliability, time savings and easy control. The application will greatly simplify and speed up all the college workload. Students do not have to visit the college notice board every time.[1]

This paper assists in automating the existing manual system. This is a paperless work. It can be monitored and controlled remotely.[2]

This paper describes how our system is going to ease the workload and confusion of college staff and students. It also saves time of staff and college resources like paper.[3]

Proposed system provides a way to maintain records. It provides easy way for interaction between students and all college faculties.[4]

Its purpose is to automate and centralize the whole system of different departments. We are attempting to improve our existing system that runs on pen and paper. [5]

A. Existing System

 Today all the major task of college is done with paperwork only. This traditional paperwork method is very time consuming and it require much more efforts.  If we want to search or retrieve the record such as of

particular student, staff by using paperwork method then we search in sequential manner which is very hard and time consuming task. It is the difficult task for keeping all the records.

 With the paper work method there is possibility of missing of some important records and it is difficult to gain this particular record again.

 Notices are display on the notice board or circulated all over college class by class.

 Thus it is require to develop a computerized system to manage all the record of students, staff digitally. So that we can access the record of student randomly within less time .

B. Proposed System

 The College Automation and Scheduling System which is a web portal designed to easily insert, delete , update and retrive the records of students and faculties.

 Propose system overcome the drawback of existing system that is more time consuming paper work.  The aim of proposed system is to reduce the workload

61  It is a roll based system which comprises following

modules:

1. Principal login:

Principal can handle the accounts of all the students, staff's and HOD's and he has control on overall system. He can view and manage all the information of students. Principal can upload the notices related to various events in college.

2. HOD login:

HOD can have access right to add the staff of respective department. HOD can upload the notices related to particular department.

3. Staff login:

Staff can manipulate the student’s profile of their respective class. He can also manage the attendance details, marks details and other details of students.

4. Student login:

First student need to register in system. After by logging into the system he can view his attendance record, marks details ,personal details.

4. METHODOLOGY

For developing this application we used waterfall model which is also called as linear sequential model or classic life cycle model. As it is a linear sequential flow it means that next phase can begin only after the completion of previous phase so it is called as linear sequential model.

It contains various stages as follows: Requirement Analysis, Design, Implementation, Testing and Operation and Maintenance.

Advantages:

 This model is easily understandable and have explainable phases and thus it is convenient to used them.

 In this model phases are proceed and completed one at a time and they do not overlap.

Disadvantages:

 During testing phase, it tedious task to go back and make changes in the previous phase.

5. SYSTEM DESIGN

In the design of college automation and scheduling there are the four modules. For this automation internet access is required.

1) Principal :

Principal can login the system via web application or android application. Principal is acts as a master admin of college automation system. Principal can add or remove the student, staff, HOD, etc.

Principal can send all the notices related to the some events or programs to the staff and student. If there are some changes requires in the notice then that changes are done by the principal.

Principal can view the student wise or department wise records or performance of all the students and teachers.

2)HOD:

The HOD can login into the web application as well as in android. HOD can add or remove the teachers of the particular department. HOD can issue the notices to the student or teachers which are related to the respective department. HOD assign the specific work to the teachers.

3) Teacher:

The teacher can login into the web application and android application with some authentication. Teacher can maintain or view all the records of the students of the particular class such as attendance list, defaulter's list, assignments list, timetable and marksheets.

Teacher can edit their profile, update and can view college schedule, events and details. Teacher can take attendance using the application, and also update the performance of student. Teachers can interacts with the students with the use of this system. Teacher can post the attendance list, assignments question and sessional mark records. Teacher can give the answers to the question which are asked by students.

Teacher can view all the notices send from the principal or HOD. With the help of android application teacher can connect with the student smartly.

(3)

Student can uses this college automation system using web application and android application. Student can view and view and connect with the teacher from any location. Student can view college schedule details and also interacts with other students, teachers. Student can update their profile.

Student have to login first. Student can get all personal records through this system such as attendance, marksheets, assignments, sessional records etc. Students can ask the questions to the teachers, share ideas related to syllabus, exams. Student can view his/her performance record from any location. Student has give feedback to the higher authority.

6. RESULTS

The implemented college automation and scheduling system used with android as well as web application. All the tasks which are assigned to the principal , faculty, student are well performed with the use of the system.

Principal is admin of the system. Principal can login using email id and password. All the activities can be done under the control of principal because of that there is less possibility of leakage of information.

7. CONCLUSION

An android and web application for college automation and scheduling system is proposed. This proposed system can be handled and controlled with remote based access. This proposed system increases the speed rather than existing system. It always provides accurate information and high security. This system reduces the man power which is required and workload. These application gives the reliability and easy control access. Most important advantage is that, it is a time saving system
