The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2005. To commemorate this extraordinary accomplishment, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is planning a series of special events throughout the year.

Beginning in the spring, the 50th Anniversary Gala, to be held June 25, 2005, promises to be one of our biggest celebratory events in the history of the Chamber. Then in the fall, the Hispanic Chamber will cap its anniversary with BRIDGE 2005: Business Conference and Technology Expo. The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s previous expos have attracted over 150 exhibitors and drew attendance of more than 2000 people comprised mostly of business owners and professional.

These events will serve to recognize the ongoing support of Corporate America, government officials and agencies, community groups, individuals and businesses of all sizes that have contributed to the longevity and continuing success of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at both the local and national level.

We invite you to partner with us to celebrate our 50th anniversary year by becoming a featured corporate sponsor at one or both of the following premier events. In addition to these two premier events in 2005 the Hispanic Chamber will also be hosting a Latinas in Business Luncheon, Golf Tournament, Ethnic Chambers Holiday Faire and monthly 50th anniversary-theme mixers.

It is not every day that an organization can boast 50 years of business and community involvement so be sure to seize this opportunity to have your organization represented at the 50th Anniversary Gala and the BRIDGE 2005: Business Conference and Technology Expo.

These premier events are sure to provide your organization direct access to this dynamic and growing market, which includes Hispanic entrepreneurs, professionals, job seekers and businesses of all sizes.

Sincerely, Miguel Olivo

Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Chairperson

P.S. A Chamber representative will call you to discuss our invitation to join us in connecting with the emerging, multi-billion dollar Hispanic market.

Of the 403,400 Hispanics in Santa Clara County in 2002, 50% are between

5 years to 29 years old, which represent a significant Kindergarten to

College age population.

Furthermore, approximately one-fourth are between the ages of 18-25 AND

over 55% are between the ages of 18-49. Excluding Undocumented Workers,

the general Hispanic population is expected to reach somewhere between

500,000-600,000 by 2005.

As an Emerging Domestic Market, this population aggregately possesses

over $5 Billion in Consumer Purchasing Power representing one of the largest

ADI’s, Designated Market and Metropolitan Areas in the Country.

The 2000 Census reported 90,457 Hispanic Households in Santa Clara

County with an Average Annual Median Income of $55,572 and a potential

Consumer Market of over 380,000 existing and future customers.

This unique Market Segment has an average median age of 26.1 years

compared to the Countywide average of 34, and has an average Household

size of 4.2 compared to the Countywide average of 2.9 representing one

of the youngest and largest Household sectors in California and the

Southwestern Region.

The 1997 Economic Census identified 12,927 Hispanic Business Enterprises

(HBE) in Santa Clara County, generating in excess of $1 billion in payroll.

It is projected that today there is somewhere between 18,000 to 22,000

HBE with payrolls possibly reaching $1.5 billion!

This lucrative Small Business Sector in 1997 generated over $5 Billion in

Annual Sales, employed approximately 65,000 potential consumers and

represents one out of every three Minority Owned businesses in the County.

Furthermore, it is projected that by

2005 HBEs will surpass $8 Billion in

Annual Sales and employ over 80,000 workers!

(Sources: Garcia and Associates, 2000 US Census, and 1997 US Economic Census)

events your organization will reach this
