Aromatherapy
is anart and science
of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to bring inbalance among
body mind and soul
History goes as far back as 10,000 B.C
where carvings depicting the distillation of herbs, woods, and flowers have been
found

Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Indian , Chinese, and Persians have been known to have used plant extracts for diverse use.
The term
“aromatherapy”

require fewer pain medications when they use aromatherapy.

Arthritis :
An experimental design with control group was designed to study the effect of aromatherapy on:• Pain
• Depression and
• Feelings of satisfaction
in life of arthritis patients.
The data were analyzed using a 2-test, Fisher's exact test, t-test and paired t-test.
Aromatherapy significantly decreased
• Both the pain score and
• The depression score
of the experimental group compared with the control group. 1
