splendour of aristocratic living in the UK. The Palace and the grounds are truly magnificent and we have a day planned for you, that you won’t want to miss!
This glorious Palace was built between 1705 and 1733 for John Churchill, the 1st Duke of Marlborough to celebrate his victory over the French in the Battle of Blenheim on 13th August 1704.
Over the past 300 years Blenheim Palace has been the home of the Dukes of Marlborough and is home today to the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and their family.
As well as a private home, the Estate has been used for a huge number of other purposes throughout our history, including a hospital for wounded soldiers during World War I and a home for evacuees in World War II. In 1950, the 10th Duke of Marlborough opened Blenheim Palace to the public for the first time.

We will create your exclusive tour with the Blenheim team to give you privileged access to usually unseen areas of the Palace with the very best guide. You will get a private tour of the beautiful Palace State Rooms and the Private Apartments, where the Duke of Marlborough and his family live.

Following this, you will be guided through the Churchill Exhibition and learn all about the amazing life of our ‘Greatest Briton’, before taking lunch.
The Orangery Restaurant is your setting for an exquisite seasonal 3-course lunch, served by your own personal dedicated waiter. You will be able to enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the Orangery as you chat with your family and friends.
After lunch, your guide will lead you around the Formal Gardens to really relax. Don’t miss the Pleasure Gardens, because there you will get a chance to experience the wonderful Butterfly House and the Walled Garden.
To round out the day we recommend visiting Woodstock, where Blenheim Palace is located to enjoy a stroll through the market town and dine in one of the welcoming British pubs.

Arrival at Blenheim Palace. Your guide will be waiting to meet you at the Flagstaff once
you arrive.
You will be escorted to the Orangery restaurant for complimentary welcome refreshments before embarking on your privately guided tour of
the palace state rooms. Following this, your guide will continue your tour through the
formal gardens.
Enjoy a delicious lunch served by your dedicated waiter in The
Orangery.
Your Blenheim Palace experience continues with an exclusive tour of
the Private Apartments accompanied by one of the Duke’s
personal butlers. They will share personal anecdotes and insight into what it is really like to live in
this magnificent palace.
After your guide has made their farewells, you are welcome to explore more of Blenheim’s vast
grounds and estate at leisure. Alternatively you may wish to
walk into Woodstock, the historic town where Blenheim Palace is located, as it has some
wonderful traditional English pubs offering delicious food. Your chauffeur will be happy to
return you to your hotel when you are ready.

I was inspired to launch Humphreys of Henley by my love of the English countryside. I was brought up in the Cotswolds and currently live in the Chilterns. My desire is to share the hidden wonders of these places that are so often missed by visitors.
Our guests provide our proudest moments, when we see their eyes widen in amazement at the majesty of a hawk in full flight, or their absolute joy when they shoot their first clay from the skies. When we plan your itinerary with you, we identify each detail that will make the day totally memorable for you. Your passions and interests are at the heart of the itinerary, and will create fabulous countryside experiences.
