DEAR CUSTOMER,

FEATURES

START-UP

The MBO Cordless Headset is a state-of-the-art product of wireless communications technology. You now own a high-quality substitute for your wired headset. The easy handling and the extreme low radiation of the receiver and the ear piece (less than 0.01 mW) make this system ideal for everyday use.

The system contains a battery charger in which 2 lithium ion batteries can be charged at the same time. Make sure before plugging in that the voltage specification on the mains adapter (230V AC) is the same as the mains voltage.

1. Plug the mains adapter in the DC jack of the charger and the mains adapter in any standard socket outlet. The multi-color LED display lights green. If you want to use the charger in the car, use the cigarette charger cable instead of the mains adapter and plug it into the cigarette lighter.

2. Put the batteries with the battery ring in the charger. The LEDs light red to indicate that the batteries are charging. (Figs. 3 and 4)

3. The LED lights yellow when the battery capacity reaches 90 %. The batteries are fully charged in about 1 hour.

4. If the green LED lights, the battery is fully charged. 5. Pull the mains adapter from the socket outlet. It is safer

to leave the batteries in the charger until needed. 6. Do not leave the batteries in the ear piece and the

receiver for more than 7 days without charging them.

USE

1. Connect the receiver to your mobile phone by plugging the 2.5 mm plug in the headset jack of your mobile phone.

The headset jack is not at the same place on all mobile phones. For most phones without 3-pin jack a special adapter is required. Adapters for the most common types of mobile phones are included in the package. PH-3210-A: for Nokia 8210, 3310, 3210 PH-7110-A: for Nokia 7110, 6210, 6110, .

6150, 5110, 5130 PH-S35-A: for Siemens C35, S35, C25, S25 2. Load the two battery drawers with the batteries in the

receiver and the headset (unless done earlier). 3. The unit is now in stand-by mode. The LED in the

receiver should blink at a frequency of about 4 seconds.

USE

4. You can switch the headset to operating mode in two different ways. One way is to press the On/Off switch on the ear piece. You will hear an instant beep. Alter-natively, the mode is adopted automatically without any intervention from your side.

Just listen for 2 beeps in the ear piece which indicate that the headset has changed from stand-by to ON mode. You can test the automatic function by pressing any key on your mobile phone. You can hear the key beep of any phone connected in the ear piece. As soon as you have connected your phone, the headset works automatically (for received calls and outgoing calls) and you can speak and hear with your hands free.

5. If your phone supports voice dialing, you can use this function with your cordless headset. Simply press the On/Off switch on the ear piece, then the voice dialing button on your phone and speak as if you were using the mobile phone.

6. When the battery power in the ear piece and the receiver is becoming weak, several warning beeps are heard. After the beeps, the headset has sufficient power for a few more minutes before it goes dead. The LED stops blinking and the On/Off switch on the ear piece does not work any more. If this happens, recharge the batteries.

7. Using the On/Off switch

The switch has a dual function: "On/Off" and " Volume control". Please note the following steps: a) One press with a beep: The headset switches on b) With several presses, a beep is heard with every

press, and this changes the volume. There are 3 settings for volume and each beep indicates the next higher level. . . . .

(8)

USE

When you reach the highest level, the next press returns you to the lowest level, and so on. c) For manual return to stand-by mode, press the

switch for about 2 seconds. Now you hear 2 beeps. Starting the stand-by mode manually saves battery power.

8. Automatic stand-by after making/receiving a call: To save power, the headset automatically changes to stand-by latest after one minute of inactivity. 9. LED and switches on the receiver:

LED:

When the headset is switched on, the LED blinks once every 4 seconds or so.

Volume control:

The mini receiver has volume control to adapt to the different volumes of telephone providers.

USE

10. Out of range

The receiver and the headset are connected by radio waves. The range of the radio waves is maximum 5 meters. Obstacles in the way of the radio waves can be the cause of poor reception. If you leave the range of the radio waves, voice communication will become poor. If this happens, move nearer to the receiver, otherwise the headset will switch off. If the headset has already switched off because you moved too far away from the receiver, it switches on automatically a few seconds after you return to within the reception range. To avoid the delay you can switch it on manually by pressing the On/Off switch on the headset for about 2 seconds. When the radio connection between the receiver and the headset is established again, you will hear the beep. If this happens while you are making a call, the call will be held.

(10)

GENERAL

TROUBLESHOOTING

If the headset does not work, make the

following checks.

1. Is the On/Off switch off? 2. Is the battery loaded?

3. Is the battery in the headset fully charged?

4. Is the connection between the receiver and the mobile phone in order?

5. Is the battery in the receiver fully charged? 6. Is the ear piece out of range?

7. Has the battery been loaded correctly? Are the "plus" and " minus" poles correct?

8. Is the LED display on the receiver blinking?

Different regulations are in force for the operation of mobile transmitters for voice transmission (in the bandwidth of 433 MHz) in different countries. For details, please contact the competent authority in your country.

Currently no restrictions exist in: - Germany

- France - the Netherlands - Sweden

A general prohibition is in force in: - Luxembourg
