PREFACE

Program was developed with the Working Group of Department “Labor and

envi-ronment protection" of the Learning and Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering

and Transport of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute".

Program is based on the standard of higher education in the specialty Ukraine 263

"Civil security" and including:

1. Doctor of Science, Full Professor V. Berezutskyi – Head of Department

“La-bor and environment protection", the head of the working group (guarantor of the

edu-cation program).

2. PhD, Full Professor V. Rayko – Full Professor of Department “Labor and

en-vironment protection".

The purpose of the educational program is a combination of high- level learning in the formation of scientific outlook student and provide broad outlook in social, humanitarian, fundamental and pro-fessional field. The formulated objectives are based on the principles of continuity and individual-ized learning fundamental integrity and providing knowledge, practical orientation and understand-ing space obtained of competencies symbiosis of scientific and systematic approach like.

3 - Characte ristics of the educational program

Subject region (disci-pline, specialty, speciali-zation)

Educational and vocational learning program for Bachelor was devel-oped for students who want to become experts in the field of engineer-ing and scientific work on prevention of disasters, accidents, fires, industrial accidents and occupational diseases. The main advantage of the program is a Bachelor focus on the formation of the widest possi-ble scientific and technical vision of the future professional. The pro-gram is aimed on socio-humanitarian and basic learning and the neces-sary sample component specialization. This is an opportunity to get a basic understanding of the fundamental and natural sciences, disci-plines of total and special learning.

The program is based on a system of general and special methods, professional techniques needed for learning in civil and technological safety and health.

Special education and learning in the field of Occupational safety and health.

Specifics applications

Learning of the basic knowledge needed to create and maintain healthy and safe working conditions, human life, providing civil pro-tection, technological safety and emergency response;

Possession of competences necessary to identify and assess potential sources of hazards of different nature in the operation of facilities management.

4 - Suitability graduates for employme nt and furthe r education

Eligibility for employment

The list of professional qualifications (in accordance with the Classi-fier of professions DK 003: 2010), which graduates can work:

" State Inspector of Civil Protection and Technological Safety" manual code 3449;

"Inspector on occupational safety and health" code CP 3152. Further learning

A students who have been learned for this learning program and re-ceived a bachelor's degree can continue their studing in Ukranian Uni-versities and abroad for educational master's degree.

5 - Teaching and Assessment

Teaching and Learning

Problem-oriented learning is conducted through lectures, workshops, consultations, independent study, implementation of the settlement, settlement and graphic assignments, term papers, based on textbooks, manuals, scientific publications, using of Internet, learning through research work .

Evaluation

Evaluation of students educational achievements are in the system ECTS.

Current control - spoke and written surveys, assessment work in small

groups, testing, defense of group and individual research tasks and projects.

Final control - spoke and written exams, credits are accumulated

points of based current control, protection of reports and practices, protection of coursework.

State attestation - Preparation and public defense (presentation) final

qualifying.

6 - Software competence

Integrated Competence (IC)

IC. The ability to solve complex problems and specialized problems characterized by complexity and uncertainty conditions during prac-tice or during learning, which involves the application of theories and methods for monitoring, prevention of accidents, emergencies, acci-dents (at work) and professional disease assessment of their possible consequences and eradication of them.

General competence (GC)

GC 1. The ability to exercise their rights and responsibilities as a member of society aware of the value of civil (free democratic) society and the need for sustainable development, rule of law, human rights and freedoms and citizen in Ukraine.

GC 2. The ability to save and increase moral, cultural, scientific achievements and values of society by understanding the history and patterns of development domain, its place in the overall system know-ledge about nature and society and the development of society, tech-niques and technologies, using different types and forms motor activ-ity for recreation and healthy lifestyles.

GC 3. The ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis.

GC 4. Ability to communicate by national language orally and in writ-ing.

GC 5. Ability to communicate in a foreign language.

GC 6. The ability to search, process and analyze information from different sources.

GC 7. Skills of interpersonal interaction.

Special (professional, subject) competence (SC)

SC 1. Awareness of the state functions, forms to implement these functions, legal framework of civil protection, health and safety; to the basic principles of civil defense and public policy on health.

SC 2. Ability to operate computer terms and definitions in the field of civil protection, health and safety; basic provisions, requirements and rules on monitoring, organization and measures to prevent, eradication of emergencies.

SC 3. Ability to PC application development trends of technology and technology of protect people, property and the environment from the dangers of man- made and natural disasters and informed choice of tools and systems to protect humans and the environment from harm. SC 4. Ability to operate PC physical and chemical terms, to under-stand the nature of mathematical, physical and chemical concepts and laws as are necessary to carry out professional activities.

SC 5. Ability to organize supervision (control) over the observance of legislation in the field of civil protection, technological, industrial safety and health.

SC 6. Ability to risk assessment of occurrence and impact of emergen-cies on the objects of the entity and risks in safety.

SC 7. Ability to select and apply reasonable methods for determining actual levels and control the negative impact of damaging factors sources of emergencies on people and the environment.

SC 8. Ability to analyze and evaluate potential risks of, processes and production equipment to humans and the environment.

SC 9. Ability to understand the mechanism of combustion and explo-sion, circumstances, actions and processes that result in an emergency. SC 10. The ability of the PC to ground and develop measures to pre-vent emergency situations, protection of population and territories from emergency situations to ensure safe work and preventing acci-dents and occupational diseases.

SC 11. The ability to predict and assess the situation in the area of emergency (accident) and tactical capabilities of units involved in the eradication of emergency (accident).

SC 12. The ability to conduct search and rescue and other urgent works, works of emergencies when they arise.

SC 13. Ability to organize computer radiation, chemical and biological protection, engineering support process execution rescue operations. SC 14. PC Ready for application and operation of technical systems of protection of individual and collective protection of people from the negative impact hazards emergency, actions of dangerous and harmful factors.

SC 15. The ability to organize safe operation of machinery, apparatus, equipment in professional activities, create safe and healthy working conditions.

SC 16. The ability to organize and conduct training of employees of enterprises, institutions and organizations and people to act in emer-gency situations.

SC 17. The ability to provide hospital cares the injured party.

7 - Learning outcomes

LO 1. To analyze the history, facts, issues and trends in Ukranian cul-ture and in their dialectical relationship.

LO 2. Possess culture of thinking, technology development social ex-perience at the level required for professional work.

LO 3. To analyze social phenomena and processes at the level required for professional work, to know the legal principles of providing civil protection, health and safety, the issue of regulatory measures to en-sure civil protection and technological safety of facilities and areas. LO 4. Apply the knowledge gained legal framework of civil protec-tion, health and safety in practice.

LO 5. To develop texts and documents related to professional activi-ties, chat Ukrainian professional language; read and understand pro-fessional literature on foreign language, using it social and profes-sional spheres; to demonstrate a culture of thinking and to identify skills for the organization of cultural dialogue at the level required for professional work.

LO 6. To explain the processes of harmful and dangerous factors aris-ing in the case of dangerous events; apply the theory of population defense, territory and environment from damaging factors of emergen-cies sources necessary for professional activity knowledge of mathe-matics and science.

LO 7. To elect the best measures and means to reduce occupational hazards, protection, prevention of disasters.

LO 8. To provide a balanced eco-activity, the necessary level of per-sonal security and mental health in the event of dangerous events de-fault.

LO 9. To use the professional activities of modern information tech-nology, database management systems and standard software pack-ages.

LO 10. To develop and use technical documentation, including the using of modern information technologies.

LO 11. To determine the physical, chemical, biological and psyho physical harmful production factors and analyze industrial safety equipment.

LO 12. To determine the technical condition of external and internal engineering networks and facilities for assessing compliance with its requirements of civil defense and technological safety.

LO 13. Classify substances, materials, products, processes, services and entities according to their degree of danger.

LO 14. Identify potential hazards and their sources, assess the likeli-hood of hazardous events and their consequences.

LO 15. To explain the nomenclature and classification of parameters of damaging factors sources of man- made and natural emergencies and the results of their actions.

LO 16. To elect the best ways to use and protection from the effects of negative factors of chemical, biological and radiological origin.

LO 17. To evaluate technical indicators and determine the state of emergency rescue equipment, communications equipment, machinery and equipment.

LO 18. To demonstrate the ability to conduct activities on eradication of emergencies and their consequences, rescue and other emergency operations.
