2GB Optus Data Plan

The Optus Mobile Broadband service is supplied in accordance with the terms of the Optus Mobile Internet Standard Form of Agreement. You must comply with these terms including our Acceptable Use Policy when using the service. Copies of these documents (excluding your application) are available at optus.com.au/standardagreement or by calling 1300 300 937. The service is a Broadband Internet service and provides access to the Internet and related services. The service provides a connection to the Internet via the Optus Mobile dual band (2100/900MHz) networks. The service is available to residential customers who connect to a new Optus Mobile Broadband service on a month to month or 12 month contract as applicable to the selected plan. All applications for the service are subject to Optus credit assessment and acceptance. The service is only available to customers within the Optus dual band (2100/900MHz) coverage area and is subject to network availability, refer to www.optus.com.au/coverage.

The service is only available for use with an Optus supplied SIM card and Wireless/Mobile Broadband data device. The Optus supplied Wireless/Mobile Broadband data device is either a Computer or tablet device with a dual band (2100/900MHz) imbedded modem (Dual band imbedded modem option), a USB or WiFi modem (a Roamer device) or a fixed wireless modem (InZone device). If you choose to use an Optus supplied wireless data device we may charge you an upfront fee and/or a monthly fee for that device for the term of the agreement. You should check the standard pricing plan for details of charges that will apply. You must use an Optus supplied wireless/Mobile Broadband data device to access the service. Other than for tablets, Optus Mobile Broadband is not available for sale in TAS (except Hobart). The service is subject to network availability. See www.optus.com/coverage for more information.

Optus Mobile Broadband Data plans may only be used as a data plan within Australia. You should not use the supplied SIM to access (and may not be able to access) other services such as Voice calls, International voice calls, Voice Mail, International SMS, premium and Third Party SMS, MMS,

International MMS, 1300, 1900. If you are able to access such services, your use of such services will be charged at prevailing rates. Data usage will be counted in kilobytes, where 1024kb = 1MB and includes both uploads and downloads..

Your pricing plan may set out a maximum amount of included data that you can use to download and upload in a billing month. If you exceed your plans included monthly data allowance, additional excess usage will be charged at an additional $0.02 per MB or part thereof. You are able to obtain an indication of your megabyte usage via the Optus on-line usage feature in member services. Any unused data allowance cannot be rolled over. If the supplied SIM card is used in an alternate device (such as a different Optus wireless device or in an Optus mobile phone), usage will count towards your plan's data allowance.

Plan Change Fee: Customers moving from a higher plan to a lower plan may incur a once off plan change fee. For full details and all fees that apply, please check your standard service description and pricing table.

Cancellation Fees: If you cancel your service before the end of the agreed contract terms you may incur a cancellation fee; on a Mobile Broadband 2GB Optus Data Plan on a 12 month contract: 0-6 months a fixed cancellation fee of $100, 7-9 months 70% ($70), 10-12 months 40% ($40 ) of the cancellation fee plus any remaining device repayments if applicable; on a Mobile Broadband 2GB Optus Data Plan on a 24 month contract: 0-12 months a fixed cancellation fee of $140, 13-15 months 80% ($112), 16-18 months 60% ($84), 19-21 months 40% ($56), and 22-24 months 20% ($28) of the cancellation fee plus any remaining device repayments if applicable. For full details of all fees that apply, please check your standard pricing table.

Software Requirements: You must meet the minimum system requirements as per the wireless data device packaging to connect to the service. Subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, Optus does not make any warranty regarding the software or data provided to you as it operates on your computer and interacts with your other applications. Optus Mobile Broadband application shows approximate usage only.

To be an account holder you must be over 18 years of age or if not, have obtained the consent of a parent, teacher or other responsible adult. We are not responsible for any Internet content that may be obtained via the service. We reserve the right to delete any username that we consider offensive, defamatory, illegal or otherwise inappropriate.

You must ensure that the software you use with the service is properly licensed. Subject to the agreement, you must not resell, share or otherwise distribute the service to a third party. We may monitor your account to ensure you are complying with the agreement. We will investigate misuse of the service. If we find that you have misused the service we may recover from you any costs of investigating the misuse and any compensation we are required to pay to another user as a result of your misuse. If you move premises before the end of the minimum term and you maintain your service at the new address we will not charge you a cancellation fee. If you move premises before the end of the minimum term and you do not wish to continue receiving the service, we will cancel the service and charge you a cancellation fee. Bundle Discount: If you bundle your 2GB Optus Data Plan with an eligible Optus Mobile service or Consumer Optus Mobile Broadband service on an Optus Data Plan on the same billing account, a $10 monthly access fee bundle discount will be applied to the Mobile Broadband service each month. The bundle discount will appear from your first bill is not transferable or redeemable for cash. Bundle discount will be forfeited if the Mobile Broadband service is moved to an alternate plan or if either service is cancelled.
