Initiated and managed Wachovia Bank’s public finance department through 1987 and thereafter until 2002 held various management and business development positions within the Capital Markets Group of Wachovia in Winston-Salem, NC. As Senior Vice President in the Capital Market’s group Cole was responsible for managing the corporate tax exempt bond and student loan bond financing businesses.

- College Foundation Inc (CFI), Raleigh, NC; asked by CEO Wendy McAlister to join in Fall 2014 College Foundation Inc.’s Board of Directors; appointment pending Governor’s office approval in October. (CFI), is a nonprofit corporation serving North Carolina students and families since 1955, which administers a loan portfolio of more than $3.3 billion, including low-interest federal education loans, in addition to the state's college grant programs and the tax-advantaged "529" college savings program on behalf of the N.C. State Education Assistance Authority. CFI also delivers information to North Carolina students and families about paying for college and provides technology services for cfnc.org.

- Partnered with Habitat for Humanity/ Forsyth to develop & organize a group of 11
eastern Forsyth area United Methodist churches (including Main Street UMC) towards a
goal of funding and constructing a Habitat home in the Kernersville area. Result:
$65,000 fundraising goal reached and construction of a home completed in Fall 2012 in
the Smith Farm neighborhood off Hwy 150 south of Kernersville.

Kairos Prison Ministry: Central Prison Kairos Advisory Board member (as of
September 2013 to present) & Thirteen year volunteer; also financial
secretary/Kairos Donor coordinator. Kairos is a worldwide ecumenical prison
ministry for men and women in mostly maximum security prisons. Kairos NC has
been operating at Central Prison for 20 years and in multiple others prisons in NC
currently.

Main Street United Methodist Church, Kernersville: Member since 1982 and
Volunteer; prior Board chair, Lay Leader, Chair of Mission and Outreach committee,
etc; youth home-repair mission trips via Appalachia Service Project and ReCreation
Ministries; Chancel Choir ; volunteer in our Community Garden ; facilitated Disciple
bible studies; coordinated our Community action day (Hands Together) in
mid-September annually;
