Follow the step-by-step directions in this document to activate your iPad; set up Lotus Notes Traveler; install and configure Google Chrome and Google Drive; and set up iCloud. Failure to follow these directions exactly can result in technical issues. If you encounter issues during set up, please contact the Service Desk.
Part I: Activation
1. Turn your iPad ON by pressing the SLEEP / WAKE BUTTON on the top right corner. At the HELLO screen, SWIPE RIGHT to get started.

8. TAP NEXT in the top right corner to start configuring your iPad.
9. LOG IN with your ACTIVE DIRECTORY (AD) USERNAME AND PASSWORD (e.g. e123456) and TAP NEXT

11. TAP GET STARTED
NOTE: The next two steps — App Installation and Passcode Requirement — may occur in a different order based on how quickly your device pulls and installs the management profiles. Please review these steps so that you understand what you need to do.
12. APP INSTALLATION — TAP SIGN IN
By accepting this invitation, you are allowing the district to push apps to your device. It also allows you to use Self Service to download and install apps from a custom app store. Always accept this
invitation.

14. TYPE your APPLE ID USERNAME and PASSWORD, and TAP OK
15. On the APPLE APPS pop up, TAP NOT NOW
Note: You will be able to download and install these apps later. We have eliminated this step to save time, as these files are very large and time-consuming to download and install.

19. When prompted, TAP CONTINUE to set your PASSCODE.
If the PASSCODE pop-up does not appear, PRESS the SLEEP/WAKE button on the top right corner to turn it OFF, then turn it ON again. If the pop-up window still does not appear, please see a Field Technician.
17. TAP AGREE and TAP AGREE again to accept the Terms and Conditions

20. TYPE your 6 digit PASSCODE, and TAP CONTINUE. Then TYPE your 6 digit PASSCODE again, and TAP SAVE.

PART II: SET UP LOTUS NOTES TRAVELER
1. From your HOME screen, swipe LEFT to access the second page of the Home screen. TAP on the SET
UP TRAVELER ICON
2. TYPE your WEBMAIL USERNAME and PASSWORD, and TAP LOG IN. Your webmail username is your first name (space) last name, such as Jon Doe if your email address is jon.doe@spps.org .
NOTE: Your WEBMAIL password is the password that you use when accessing your SPPS email through a web browser, like Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.

4. TAP CONFIGURE YOUR APPLE IPHONE / IPOD TOUCH / IPAD
5. VERIFY that your USERNAME and EMAIL ADDRESS are correct, and TAP GENERATE

7. TYPE your PASSCODE that you created in Step 19 of Activation. Remember, your passcode is the 6 digit code for unlocking your iPad.

10. TYPE your WEBMAIL PASSWORD, and then TAP NEXT
Your WEBMAIL PASSWORD is the password you use when
accessing your SPPS email through a web browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
11. TAP DONE in the upper right corner of the pop-up.
12. Lotus Notes Traveler installation is now complete, and you will return to the Generate an Apple Profile page. PRESS the HOME BUTTON to return to the Home Screen.
You will now be able to use the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars apps installed on your iPad to access your Lotus Notes email, calendar, and contacts.
Common Settings:
• To change your email signature, TAP the SETTINGS app, then TAP MAIL, CONTACTS,
CALENDARS, and TAP SIGNATURE. Locate your IBM LOTUS NOTES TRAVELER signature field,
tap to select the field, and TYPE your new signature.
• To increase the number of days of email kept on your iPad, TAP the SETTINGS app, then TAP MAIL, CONTACTS, CALENDARS, and under ACCOUNTS, TAP (YOUR NAME) - IBM LOTUS NOTES,

Part III: Install Google Chrome using the App StoreIn this part of the set up process, you will be downloading and installing Google Chrome from the App Store. This ensures that your Apple ID is working properly before you attempt to download and install other apps from Self Service.
1. TAP on the APP STORE app on the HOME SCREEN.
2. In the SEARCH field in the upper right corner, TYPE CHROME, then TAP CHROME FOR IPAD.

4. TAP the INSTALL button
5. TAP USE EXISTING APPLE ID
Note: If you did not create an Apple ID prior to device set up, you should select Create New
Apple ID, and follow the
on-screen prompts. If you follow the prompts exactly, you will not need to add a credit card or other payment type to the account.
6. TYPE your APPLE ID USERNAME and PASSWORD in the pop-up, and TAP OK

Part IV: Download, Install, and Set Up Google Drive1. TAP the SELF SERVICE app on the Home Screen
It is critical that you follow these next steps exactly or you will encounter a significant error .
2. Locate the GOOGLE DRIVE app and TAP INSTALL
3. TAP the HOME BUTTON to return to the Home Screen
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOG IN TO GOOGLE DRIVE OR YOU WILL ENCOUNTER A 401 ERROR

6. SWIPE until you get to the orange screen and TAP SKIP in the upper right corner

Part V: Set Up iCloud and Find My iPadiCloud will allow you to back up your data and device settings, while enabling Find My iPad will allow you to locate a missing iPad or remotely wipe / erase the device.
