ABSTRACT:
In the current global scenario, it is a social responsibility to secure women from clutches of women harassment. The only thought haunting for every girl is to move freely on the streets at any time without any fear and terror. Security for women is still a major issue as the number of crimes over women is increasing day-by-day. Even women have achieved top positions in job and society, yet they are facing problems such as physical harassment and sexual assault. The cases of harassment and rapes on women are increasing hence security issue for such woman is more important. So it is essential to develop a system to provide security to women. The system allows woman to protect herself from attackers. By pressing the button of the system a helping message along with her location will be transmitted by the system to the police station and her few relatives, so that they will get aware of her current situation.
KEYWORDS: ATmega328, wireless technology, security, IoT, GPS/GSM.
INTRODUCTION:
In today’s world, women safety has become a major issue as they cannot step out of their house at any time due to physical/sexual harassment. They go out to work at different places to be independent and they have to work even in night shifts. The employed women are feeling unsafe to go out due to rising crimes[1].. Women are not physically fit as men, so in an emergency situation helping hand would be required for them [2].
In the present situation, women safety is a burning issue due to rising crimes against them. To resolve this problem there is a device for women security. It is a security device that is designed for providing security to women. So they can go out alone without any fear[3]..
The main purpose is to protect the women from dangerous situation. In this project we are using wireless modules with ATmega328 for providing security to women. When the women feels insecure or when she is in danger she presses the switch then wireless modules are activated. GPS will calculate latitude and longitude of that particular area. GSM will send SMS of the location to the emergency contacts or numbers which are already stored and it will also make call to those numbers. Day by day the attacks on women are increasing and sometimes she may not be able to call to a police station or to family. This system will helps in such a cases to inform that she is in danger and giving her exact location for necessary action[4]..
Moreover this device is not only meant for women. It is also helpful for children and old people.
In addition to these, we can also provide an audio circuit which is useful for the blind.
APPROACH:
Wireless technology is used in this project. It’s a technology that uses radio waves to transmit and receive data. The transmission of data/information from one place to another place through a device wirelessly is referred as wireless technology [5]. The device used to transmit data wirelessly is RF module. The RF transmitter takes the data and sends to the RF receiver wirelessly.

Transmitter Receiver
Fig1: System Block Diagram RF module:
As the name suggests, it operates at radio frequency .This RF module comprises of a RF Transmitter and RF Receiver. The transmitter/receiver (TX/Rx) pair operates at a frequency of 333MHz. An RF transmitter receives serial data and transmits it wirelessly through RF through its antenna connected at pin4 (antenna output pin-ANT). The transmitted data is received by an RF receiver operating at the same frequency as that of the transmitter. The RF module is often used along with a pair of encoder/decoder. The encoder is used for encoding parallel data for transmission feed while reception is decoded by a decoder.
Encoder:
HT12E is an encoder integrated circuit of 212 series of encoders. HT12E converts parallel inputs to serial output. It sends the serial data to RF transmitter and it transmits wirelessly to RF receiver.
Decoder:
HT12D is a decoder integrated circuit of 212 series of decoders. HT12D converts serial inputs into parallel output. The transmitted data received by the RF receiver is send to decoder. It converts the received serial data into parallel and sends the data to ATmega328.
ATmega328:
An Arduino Uno is a ATmega328 Microcontroller. It has 14 digital input/output pins in which pin 6 can be used as PWM output. This includes a 16MHz ceramic resonator, an ICSP header, a USB connection, 6 analog inputs, a power jack and a reset button. This contains all the required support needed for microcontroller. When the decoder sends data, buzzer will produce a beep sound to indicate that the device is switched ON. Then GPS and GSM modules are activated.
GSM:
GSM stands for Global System for Mobile Communication. A GSM modem is a specialized type of modem which accepts a SIM card, and operates over a subscription to a mobile operator, just like a mobile phone. It is a device to send the location obtained through GPS. In this proposed device the GSM acts as a receiver. The received information from the transmitter is sent as SMS to the few predefined emergency numbers.

GPS is a network of satellites that continuously transmit coded information, which makes it possible to precisely identify locations on earth by measuring distance from the satellites. The purpose of using GPS, module in the system is, it continuously transmits serial data like position of an individual, in terms of latitude and longitude, date, time and speed values to processing unit.

Transmitter Working:
The transmitter contains switch, HT12E encoder and RF transmitter. When the women press the switch, the encoder converts the parallel data into serial and it sends to the RF transmitter [6].
Transmitter Receiver:

The data is received by RF receiver and it sends to the decoder. The decoder converts the serial data to parallel data and sends to the ATmega328 and the buzzer is ON to indicate that the device gets activated. Then the GPS module gets activated and tracks the location of the person in terms of latitude and longitude. The traced location is sent to the GSM module through Atmega328. The GSM module sends the traced location as SMS to the contact number that is already stored[7]. The SMS will be send for every 5 minutes with the updated location.

When the switch is pressed, the buzzer turns on. Then the GPS module tracks the latitude and longitude of that particular area and GSM module sends the location as SMS to already stored contact number and for every 5 minutes the updated location will be sent.
CONCLUSION:
Being safe and secure is the demand of the day. Our effort behind this project is to design a gadget which is so compact and provide advantage of personal security system. This design will deal with most of the critical issues faced by the women and will help them to be more secure. Women security is a critical and sensitive issue in current scenario [8]. These crimes can be brought to an end with the help of real time implementation of this proposed system.
FUTURE SCOPE:
In future, we can also add audio circuit which will be helpful for the blind and can also add fingerprint sensor.
