MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR WINDOWS®

Minimum System Requirements Windows® 95:

• Multimedia PC 486 DX 66 MHz or better

• 8 MB RAM

• 20 MB of free space on hard drive

• Double-Speed (2x) CD-ROM drive

• Color monitor with 256 color graphic capability

• 16-bit Sound Blaster® or 100% compatible sound card and speakers

• Standard mouse and keyboard

• Laser or inkjet printer required to output scrapbook images (note: printing capabilities are not available on DOS systems)

Minimum System Requirements Windows® 3.1 Running in DOS:

• DOS 5.0

• 35 MB of free space on hard drive

• Video card must be VESA compliant with 512k RAM (capable of displaying 256 colors in 640 x 480)

• All other system requirements same as above except:

Windows® 95 and a printer are HOI required for DOS users.

• Please note: printing capabilities are not available on DOS systems

INSTALLING AND RUNNING THE PROGRAM IN WINDOWS® 95:

Windows® 95 Install

• Insert the Adventures with Barbie™ Ocean Discovery™ CD-ROM disc into your drive.

• If you have the Auto Insert notification feature enabled for your CD-ROM, the Installation will start automatically and you can skip the following two steps. If this feature is not enabled, perform the next two steps:

• Select Start and then Run from the Windows® 95 Taskbar.

• Type d:\setup (d: refers to your CD-ROM drive. If your CD-ROM drive is not d:, type the appropriate drive letter.)

• Choose the OK button and follow the Installation Instructions.

• You can choose to place a Barbie™ Ocean Discovery™ icon on the desktop when prompted during Setup.

• After Setup is complete, you'll find an icon for Barbie™ Ocean Discovery™ in the Ocean menu item within Programs under the Start menu in the Windows® 95 Taskbar.

Running the Program in Windows® 95

• Insert the Adventures with Barbie™ Ocean Discovery™ CD-ROM disc into your drive.

• When the Autostart window appears, click the OK icon to run the program. You can also select Start from the Windows® 95 Taskbar and then search through ProgramsXOcean to select the Barbie™ Ocean Discovery™ icon that runs the program.

• If you installed the icon on the desktop, double click on the Barbie™ Ocean Discovery™ icon to run the program.

INSTALLING AND RUNNING THE PROGRAM IN WINDOWS® 3.1 RUNNING IN DOS:

Windows® 3.1 Running in DOS Install

• Insert the Adventures with Barbie™ Ocean Discovery™ CD-ROM disc into your drive

• Select Run... from the File menu in Windows® Program Manager.

• Type d:\setup (d: refers to your CD-ROM drive. If your CD-ROM drive is not d:, type the appropriate drive letter.)

• Choose the OK button and follow the Installation Instructions.

• Upon finishing the installation setup, click on the Adventures with Barbie Ocean Discovery icon. This will bring you to DOS.

• Type cd\ocean. Then press ENTER.

• Type discover. Then press ENTER.

Running the Program in Windows® 3.1 Running in DOS:

• Insert the Adventures with Barbie™ Ocean Discovery™ CD-ROM disc into your drive.

• From Windows® Program Manager, find the Barbie™ Ocean Discovery™ icon and double-click. This will bring you to DOS.

• Type cd\ocean. Then press ENTER.

• Type discover. Then press ENTER.

Please note: a Pentium® processor with MMX™ technology is not required.

Barbie™ can swim through the ocean in any direction. Simply move the pointer to the edge of the screen in the direction you would like Barbie to swim.Your pointer will change to a large arrow as shown below. If the pointer

changes to the shape of a stop sign, try having Barbie swim in another direction, or go back and see if you missed any games you need to solve before moving further into the adventure.

Click on the scrapbook to see all the M pictures you have taken with the

underwater camera, print out a picture, replay games or quit the adventure

Click on the flashlight to shed some light on your underwater

surroundings. It comes in handy when you are looking for clues too!

Click on the camera to take a picture at any time. Pictures are saved in the M scrapbook where they can be printed

in color or black and white.

Click on the treasure map for hints about the location of the treasure.

M Every time you find another piece of the map, it is added here.

Click on the magnifying glass to take a closer look at the marine life, and at games and puzzles too!

When you find a clue, be sure to click on it and it will appear in one of the empty shells on the tool bar.

If you need program help during your underwater adventure, just click on the question mark at the top of the

*4 screen. If you need help solving the adventure, click on Sandy, the dolphin.

Click on the life buoy at the top right corner of the screen to learn what part of the ocean you have been exploring and how far you have traveled.
