Warrenton, VA. DRH has a distinguished record of providing quality structural engineering and project management services to the public and private client communities throughout the mid-Atlantic region. We are currently licensed to provide engineering services for projects in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, District of Columbia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, New Mexico, Wyoming and West Virginia.

DRH’s structural building design experience encompasses steel, concrete and timber design. Designs have included shallow and deep foundations and

superstructures with buildings of varying size from a few thousand to several hundred square feet. Types of buildings designed include single family residences, multi-level commercial office buildings, industrial buildings, churches, and shopping centers. DRH utilizes the latest state of the art design software in preparing its structural designs and plans including STAAD Pro, RISA-3D, EnerCalc and StruCalc, AutoCAD Structural Revit and Ram Structural Systems.

Suffield Meadows Age Restricted Residential Community Pedestrian Foot Bridges, Fauquier County, VA:

Work on this project consisted of the design and preparation of plans for two timber pedestrian bridges across Mill Run in New Baltimore. Design included pile foundations and timber structure

Battle Run Road Bridges, Rappahannock County, VA

This project involved inspection, analysis and design/plans for the repair of three timber and steel bridges servicing a private road. Work also included construction inspection and coordination with VDOT for final acceptance. The bridges were designed for traffic bearing and included one 35’ in length, one 40’ in length and one 47’ in length.

Watersplace South – Town of Culpeper, VA

This project involved the inspection and analysis of an existing historical structural which had been damaged by the 2011 earthquake event. Recommendations included removal of the 2nd floor and

reconstructing the upper floor, renovations to the first floor for adaptive reuse of the structure for mixed commercial and residential uses. Services included calculations, designs and plans for the construction.

Monterosa Neptune Stable – Warrenton, VA

This project involved the design and preparation of plans and details for shoring the existing building to allow for restoration of the Virginia registered historical structure.

Foxgate Town Center – Loudoun County, VA

This project involved the structural design and preparation of plans for an 800,000 s.f. retail, office and residential mixed use development. Features include underground/above ground parking, 4-5 story buildings and a site gateway bridge and pedestrian plaza feature facing US. Route 50..

Marion Scott DuPont Equine Center, Leesburg, Virginia:

Work on this project consisted of the evaluation of existing hoist beams to determine their adequacy for lifting equine patients and a certification as to their ability to carry the anticipated loads. Further work at this site involved the structural design of two barns to be used for equine patient stables.

The Old Church, Lee Street, Warrenton, VA

Work on this project consisted of a structural evaluation of the existing historic church building to determine if the structural framing meets codes. Work also included structural design for renovations for adaptive reuse of the interior space into office space including a new mezzanine. The roof structure was also changed to steel trusses and purlins.

Rallywood Farm Horse Arena Structural Reinforcement, Middleburg, VA

This project involved a large indoor horse arena which suffered structural damage from the extreme snow loads experienced in 2002. We evaluated the damage and checked the capacity of the existing structural framing members. Based on that evaluation we made recommendations and prepared plans for

Marshall Community Center, Marshall, VA:

This project was one of several projects completed for Fauquier County for evaluation of the existing facilities for ADA code compliance. Field investigations were provided and preliminary engineering reports and cost estimates prepared for various recommended renovations to make the facilities code compliant. This project also involved design and specifications for waterproofing the basement areas of the building.

Morgan Oil Terminal, Marshall, VA:

This project consisted of the design and preparation of construction plans for a new oil terminal building with truck maintenance bays, warehousing and offices. Plans also included concrete oil containment structures around the oil tanks. Design included foundation and framing design as well as coordination of other disciplines such as electrical, mechanical and plumbing and permitting through the Fauquier County Building department.

Fauquier Community Theater, Vint Hill Farms, VA:

This project consisted of a structural analysis and feasibility study for the adaptive reuse of the existing film laboratory building at Vint Hill Farms to a community theater use.

Fauquier Hospital Emergency Room Expansion, Warrenton, VA:

This project consisted of a structural design and plans for a new segmental retaining wall required to allow for the expansion of the emergency department. This wall averaged 12-14’ in height. Services also included CA services.

Bright Oaks Commercial Office Building – Bel Air, MD:

This project consisted of the structural design and plans for a new 2-story steel framed and masonry office building. Total floor area is 20,000 s.f. Services also included CA services.

Hulfish House – Haymarket, Virginia

This project included structural analysis of an existing structure and recommendations for reinforcing the building for adaptive reuse for light offices and/or retail.

The Gap Distribution Center – Harford County, MD

This project included structural design/plans of foundations, steel interior framing and tilt-up precast exterior walls for an 800,000 s.f. distribution warehouse for a major clothing store chain. Services also included CA services and materials inspection and testing.

Garrison Village Shopping Center – Stafford County, VA

This project included structural design/plans of foundations, steel interior framing and masonry exterior walls for a new shopping center. Services also included CA services and materials inspection and testing.

Owen Residence – Lake Anna - Louisa, Virginia

This project included design and construction plans for a custom lake home at Lake Anna located in Louisa County, Virginia

This project included structural analysis of an existing historical structure and recommendations for renovating the building for adaptive reuse for light offices and/or retail including plans, specs, and CA services.

Annaburg Manor – Manassas, Virginia

This project included structural inspection and evaluation of existing historical building to determine condition of structure and recommendations for structural repairs as well as waterproofing.
