Since 2006, the Government of Dubai has been working to build a city that will lead the rest of the emirate in embodying the societal themes required for the facilitation of happiness. We are pleased to announce that the name of that city is Dubai South.
While the more visible features of Dubai South — such as the Al Maktoum International Airport — are already in public view, the city is progressively planning and executing several beneficial initiatives that are designed to maximize the happiness of individuals. And this includes hosting the World Expo in 2020, an event that is expected to attract 25 million visitors to Dubai South.

The modern city has typically been structured around the car and commerce, with little thought given to what makes people truly happy. The club will also offer casual dining, fine dining, business networking events, juice bars and athletic retail. Amenities include daycare, spa and an indoor/ outdoor relaxation garden.

At the centre of The Villages lives a unique, solar-powered urban farm, growing fresh produce and housing an indoor botanical garden. The community farm features a restaurant and open kitchen, which also offers cooking classes for children and adults.

AVIATION
EASIEST ACCESS BY AIR
The Aviation District at Dubai World Central sits adjacent to the Al Maktoum International Airport and is in proximity to the Jebel Ali Port. The 6.7-square-kilometre district represents an integrated ecosystem serving the practical needs of the general aviation and aerospace industries. Intelligently designed to allow both airside and landside access for the seamless movement of cargo, the district offers ready-built, world-class aviation and aerospace infrastructure to businesses in the MRO, FBO and light industrial sectors. Beyond its aviation and aerospace focus, the district also has well-defined zones for sectors such as hospitality, industry-affiliated education, R&D and mixed-use development. Over the next several years, the Al Maktoum International Airport will be expanding, to eventually enable the airport to fly more than 220 million passengers and 16 million tons of cargo each year. And an executive jet terminal will be unveiled for discerning business travelers, VIPs and other dignitaries.

MULTIMODAL LOGISTICS PLATFORM FOR MAXIMUM SPEED AND EFFICIENCY
Dubai South integrates the realities of global logistics into the fabric of the city, making it a dynamic and sustainable business hub for SMEs, large corporations, contract logistics, integrators, freight forwarders and agents. It is already home to multinational logistics resources such as Aramex, Panalpina, DHL and Kuehne + Nagel, among others, because it is a multimodal logistics platform providing direct access to Al Maktoum Airport, Jebel Ali Port, the major trans-emirate road networks, Etihad Rail and Dubai Metro.
Businesses can take advantage of a dedicated logistics corridor connecting Jebel Ali Port and Dubai South, forming a single, custom-bonded free zone spanning an area of 200 square kilometres. Doing business here includes access to value-added services such as light manufacturing and assembly with ready-to-occupy or built-to-suit office spaces, warehouses and distribution centres.
