Fax The technology that underpins Apeos applications and ApeosPort-II multifunction devices is
based upon XML and Simple Object Application Protocol (SOAP). These industry-standard languages allow ApeosPort-II multifunction devices to connect to the various services running in the Apeos environment and allow integration with existing CRM, DMS, and ERP applications.
For end users and administrators, ApeosPort-II multifunction devices run a variety of Fuji Xerox applications like DocuWorks and ApeosWare. WebDAV support is also included for easier, more intuitive access to stored documents.
Open architecture technology
Support for Application Service Providers (ASP) now allows small- and medium-sized offices to connect securely over the internet via ApeosPort-II multifunction devices. Apeos Intelligent Services
This service converts hard copy into digital format for distribution in a variety of formats. Documents are first scanned, then distributed via printouts, FTP, SMB, e-mail, fax, and iFax. You can also link data in hard copy to electronic data in enterprise data applications. ApeosPort-II multifunction devices can also provide access to documents stored in memory to remote users over the internet.
Document Flow Service is easily customizable to fit the unique needs of any office. Complex and time-consuming document processing procedures can be programmed into simple one-touch operations called “job flows.”
The key to Apeos functionality is found within the five intelligent services embedded in ApeosPort-II
multifunction devices. These services increase user productivity and efficiency by eliminating repetitive

A complete set of management tools are provided to make device administration easy. These tools allow you to restrict usage by device and function, track and log transactions, configure IC card access, and manage users, groups and multifunction devices within the network.

Manage and track device usage with powerful Internal Auditron or Xerox Standard Accounting (XSA). Internal Auditron allows you to restrict access to ApeosPort-II operations on a per user basis. Users can be given full access to print, copy, scan, and fax functions or restricted to only certain functions. Further restrictions can be set to prevent colour output and to limit the amount of device usage. Using XSA, you can obtain device usage data and output it to a CSV file for use in accounting and spreadsheet applications. Additionally, XSA allows you to assign similar users to groups and clone machine settings which can then be applied to other ApeosPort-II multifunction devices in the enterprise.
This service allows secure access to ApeosPort-II multifunction devices from anywhere within the intranet or over the internet. Laptop users and users who frequently travel or work in different offices can connect to any ApeosPort-II device in the network. Users may upload and download documents, print, fax, and use any document distribution functions like FTP and e-mail.
Mobile Service
Link ApeosPort-II multifunction devices to existing CRM software or other ERP applications. The Apeos development platform provides a suite of SDKs which enables everything in a business to seamlessly integrate ApeosPort-II devices using open architecture XML and SOAP technologies. This allows scanned documents and customised metadata to be captured directly by a business application for additional processing. The operation panel of the ApeosPort-II multifunction device can be configured to have an application displayed on the user interface in order to transfer scanned documents directly to ERP applications.

This advanced toner is composed of ultra-fine particles that are more uniform in size and shape than those found in conventional toners. The end result is crisper, sharper output. EA-HG toner is also environmentally friendly due to reduced CO2 emitted during manufacturing.

Fuji Xerox has developed a new image processing technology called IRES. This expands the colour capabilities of ApeosPort-II multifunction devices by improving colour reproduction in documents containing both photographs and graphics. In order to promote a more secure printing environment ApeosPort-II multifunction devices can restrict printing of sensitive documents from client PCs. Print jobs containing confidential information are stored in the Apeos-Port-II device and printed only after authenticating from the control panel. For mobile users and others outside the intranet, printing via IPP can be secured by using SSL encryption.

After sending a print job, users must enter a password at the control panel in order for the document to be printed. Any print jobs stored on the ApeosPort-II multifunction device are printed when the password is input.

This allows administrators to force users to store print jobs in private password protected directories. When output is desired, the user must authenticate at the control panel, then select the documents to be printed.

SSL encryption assures the confidentiality of data in documents printed via IPP. Should a print job be intercepted while in transit, SSL encryption assures that the document data remains secure.
