Our Philosophy & Values

We believe the basis for a successful design lies hidden within the context of a site and our goal is to discover, foster and develop it through research and analy-sis, conceptual generation and the blending of aesthetic and pragmatic aspects of Landscape Architecture and Civil Engineering into a comprehensive solution. In working with our Clients, we strive for comprehensive, creative and thorough problem solving services based on these values:

• SERVICE: We are committed to building strong and long-lasting relationships based on transparent communication, trust, honesty and integrity. We listen to and respond to the needs of our Clients, treating them as partners.

• STEWARDSHIP: Sustainable design is developing long-lasting quality solu-tions while striving to preserve natural resources for future generasolu-tions and we are committed to being managers of our world ecology for our Clients.

• SYNERGY: Whether we are part of a collaborative team effort or working singly with a Client, we are committed to a dynamic and interactive approach to planning and design.

• PERSPECTIVE: We are committed to helping our Clients see and understand their project in different ways in order to create the best possible solutions. Our personal directive on any project is how can we push the creative design enve-lope while satisfying the program and budget requirements.

• OPTIMISM: We are committed to generating excitement and positive energy about each project and letting this passion guide us through the design process and beyond.

Croquet Lawn/Helipad, Old Field, NY

Entrance Garden, Ocean Beach, NY Poolscape, Head-of-the-Harbor, NY Slate Terrace, Glen Cove, NY

RSLA emphasizes a sustainable and “green” approach to

residential landscape design. It begins with an appropriate

design that includes functional, cost efficient, visually

pleas-ing, environmentally friendly and maintainable areas, all

while meeting the program needs of a family. The design

must be implemented in a cost and energy efficient manner

and be built to stand the test of time. Lastly, the landscape

must be monitored and maintained to ensure a

continu-ously healthy ecosystem. RSLA works closely with families

to develop a “compound” that suits all of their needs and

provides four seasons of use and beauty.
