One of the most exciting things a Catholic Christian can do is to fall in love with the Word of God.
When we become lovers of the Word of God we pay attention to it. We want to enjoy it, understand it, study it, see how it can change our lives and deepen our faith. It is a tremendous gift to love the Word. It softens the hardness of our hearts and lights up the darkness of the world. The challenge for any priest or preacher is to make the Word come alive for the People of God. Since Our Lady of Sorrows participates in FORMED.org (code 36FWHK) you have the opportunity to hear the word of the Sunday Mass before you come to church and to hear another point of view in the preaching on the Word. Opening the Word is one of the offerings on FORMED.org. Each week a priest reads the readings of the Sunday Mass and explains them. That way, when you come to Mass at church you already know what the readings are and can re- flect on them and compare the homilies. I can just give personal testimony: The more I pay attention to the Word of God and the more I pray over what it means in my own life, the deeper and more joy- filled my life becomes and the more enthusiastic I am about ministering the Gospel. I invite you to use FORMED.org to help your own faith.

Cuando nos convertimos en amantes de la Palabra de Dios, le prestamos atención a tal. Queremos disfru- tarla, entenderla, estudiarla, ver como cambia nuestras vidas y profundiza nuestra fe. Es un tremendo don de amor amar a la Palabra. Apacigua la dureza en nuestros corazones e ilumina la oscuridad del mundo. El reto para cualquier sacerdote o predicador es hacer que la Palabra tome vida para el Pueblo de Dios. Desde que Nuestra Señora de los Dolores participa en FORMED.org (código 36FWHK) usted tiene la oportunidad de escuchar la Palabra de la Misa dominical y oír los puntos de vistas de otras personas en la predica de la Pa- labra antes de venir a la iglesia.
