Why Edwise for GRE/GMAT/SAT?

Edwise offers one of the most comprehensive, rigorous, and affordable trainings for GRE/GMAT/SAT in India. One of the most salient features of training at Edwise is a very strong focus on building the foundation of Mathematics. Our faculties devote a considerable amount of time making the fundamentals of students strong. The focus on Verbal part revolves around making students work with different types of questions, guiding them with the approach and reasoning, and giving them sufficient practice so that they are armed with tools to answer any type of question. For essay writing sections of these examinations, relevant topics are discussed in the class and guidelines are provided with regard to ideas to be presented, organization to be followed and language to be used for composition of the essay.

Teaching Pedagogy for GMAT

For Quantitative part, every session begins with concept-teaching of a particular topic. After explaining concepts, our teachers solve problems of different types to show how application of concept happens. Then students are given about 25 questions of Problem Solving (PS) and data Sufficiency (DS) types to solve in the class. As the students solve the questions, our teachers remain in class to guide them if they face any difficulty. Then home assignment is given consisting of an approximately same number of questions. Towards the end of the session, time is devoted to take difficulties of previous home assignment.

Integrated Reasoning section of GMAT very strongly tests data analysis skill of students. As this is the new type of question in GMAT, students are made to practice a large number of questions from new edition of official guide.

Verbal sessions start with a detailed introduction of every question type i.e. Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning and Sentence Correction. Further on, exercises are assigned from Official Guide for GMAT 13th edition. We make students practice one question type at a time, so that students develop expertise and confidence. After completion of individual exercises, the detailed discussion is taken in which our faculties try to understand the reasoning and approach followed by the student(s). If a student is found to be not following the right approach, our teachers guide them.

During essay sessions of GMAT, topics are chosen from official pool and discussed with students. After discussion of ideas, guidelines are given for composition of essay.

Teaching Pedagogy for GRE

After explaining concepts, our teachers solve problems of different types to show how application of concept happens. As the students solve the questions, our teachers remain in class to guide them if they face any difficulty. Then home assignment is given consisting of an approximately same number of questions. Towards the end of the session, time is devoted to take difficulties of previous home assignment.

Verbal Reasoning sections of GRE have very strong focus on reasoning abilities and knowledge of words (vocabulary). Students practice exercises from official guide of GRE. Sufficient number of passages are assigned from the same book in order to develop reasoning skill and enhance vocabulary. At the same time various strategies are discussed with students to help them increase knowledge of words in an easier, efficient and time bound manner.

During essay sessions of GRE, topics are chosen from official pool and discussed with students. After discussion of ideas, guidelines are given for composition of essay.

Critical Reading sections of SAT have questions of Reading Comprehension and Sentence Completion. More than 2/3 rd of the questions in Critical Reading part of SAT are on Reading Comprehension. As the focus is very strong on reading abilities, our faculties devote a considerable amount of time helping students develop very strong reading skills by taking sufficient number of exercises from Barron's SAT book, considered to be the toughest in the market. After completing comprehension module of training, sentence completion module is taken. Questions are practiced from the same book and various strategies are provided to help students build vocabulary.

For Essay Writing part of SAT, topics are chosen from various standard sources, which very closely resemble the kind of topics that appear in SAT.
