Introduction

There are hundreds of computer learning sessions every month in Leeds Libraries.

We can show you how to:

• Use a mouse and keyboard

• Search the internet

• Sign up for an email account

Once you’ve mastered the basics, we can show you some of the other things you can do online:

• Search for jobs

• Explore local and family history

• Use the library catalogue and our online resources

Choose a session

Whether you need a one-off session or a short course, we can help. Contact any library to request any of the sessions in this booklet.

Choose a library

Some libraries have specialist software or specialist staff. Some run special sessions such as PC Clubs or Work Clubs. Contact any library to find out what’s available and where.

No experience necessary. If you’re completely new to computers and the internet, we can show you the basics.

Once you’re comfortable with the basics, we can help you get to grips with everyday tasks such as searching the internet or using your email account.

By this stage you’ll be exploring the internet and planning your next steps. We can show you some of the skills you’ll need to keep going on your learning journey.

Studio12

• Film and photography

• Animation

At Studio12 you’ll be using industry standard hardware and

software to work on your projects. You can also record vocals and voiceovers in the sound booth.

You get free access to a production studio, training and support and accredited qualifications. Your work can be critiqued by a panel of creative professionals working in design, music, video and media arts.

At Studio12 you can:

• Be creative

• Experiment with new technology

• Achieve personal goals

• Enterprise Club. If you’re running a business or thinking of

starting a business. A chance to network and get information, advice and support.

• Inventors Group. Meet other inventors, get advice from people involved in the business of protecting and exploiting new ideas and products.

• Patent Clinic. A confidential, one-to-one consultation with a registered patent attorney.
