Subway can take special precaution to ensure peanut safety in preparation of school order.

 Options 9 grain and honey oat which qualify for school board policy.  Move forward. Put on the form, we’ve done our due diligence

and can have sign “have peanuts on site”. Refer to subway and they are board approved

Karen Dobrucki (Evergreen/ TCDSB)

 It’s a process that can take up to 1 ½ years; works best with some teacher and some parent involvement and also with some students to be involved. Can provide some photos and go deeper into it at a later time.  City of Toronto can have them come into the school to plant trees. They

plant every fall. Can take this opportunity to do this. Set up a proposal to do this.

 Costing: getting trees for free; Ms. Dobrucki will try to look into it. Looking at the site, realistically have to phase the projects in one at a time. Play structures are not great bang for buck. Show some

alternatives to play structures.

 Holy Spirit C.S.is one example. Can try to see Google Earth on this site. Imagination based learning – getting away from play structure because it’s dangerous. One plan is to bring back logs for natural play. Enquiry based play. Bringing back sand (changed the type of sand as well so it’s better resistant to animals). St. Edwards had put one in. It’s also cheaper with these natural structures. Spreading out the structure. Do surveys to involve the students to get their feedback. If it’s structure, they have to follow CSA guidelines and will have to be assessed every year and the board will take responsibility for that. If doing smaller pieces throughout the yard ($1000 - $5000 is possible for another phase). They will build to your budget.

 Free tree planting, we can get to plant the tree to our choice. Emerald Ash Boar is very low in this area. 2017 will have lost all of our Ash trees in Ontario. Plant a more diverse planting. They have a list to provide and also the board has a recommended. Can plant up to 25 trees.  Food gardening has also become more popular. It is a huge curriculum

tie in and there is pollinator and other issues. Board wants to allow people from the community on site when designing the garden so please keep this in mind.

 Evening meetings at the school, initially more frequently. Asking around the community to see which parents are able to help or do

contracting/donate or put in time. Has to be board approved and fill some forms; so they have to have insurance.

Movie Night

 Congratulations on a very successful Movie Night. Went very well, but 3 kids left without parents. For next time, have all exits supervised at all times. Thank you to all parents and staff who helped.

check which day Ms. Dobrucki is available and let committee know.

Chocolate Fundraiser

 Tuesday after Easter to have all boxes and $ returned. Currently have 120 boxes “out”. We have 40-50 chocolate almonds left and 15 of mixed nut-free.

 Hopefully most or all will come back sold. Kateri Kids

 Ms. Mondelli is trying to negotiate with Kateri Kids to reclaim the biggest room for their before/after school program within the school and moving around to accommodate getting the grade 6/7 class room back within school building instead of the portable.

 They can have up to 30 kids as part of their before and after care therefore they need a sink and a large enough space. Library is one option for them to have. Ms. Mondelli will continue this negotiation process and update when decision is made.

Computers

 Computers are all in. Just needing ports and wireless access. The 9 old ones are gone. And there are 14 new ones.
