Notes

1.

The information contained in this document corresponds to an approximation of the possible compliance of the

category corresponding to the environmental certification system chosen to study (LEED and VERDE) based on the

information the company has provided. To ensure the compliance posibility of such credits will always be

necessary to verify the information and data provided by the company, and make the relevant specific study (even

though the company has already made a preliminary study). This document is not a product certification or

guarantee compliance with local laws.

2.

Obtaining the percentage reduction in impact or points obtained in the certification depends on the overall

performances of all materials and products used in building construction to certify.

3.

The findings of this study apply only to the products mentioned in this report and is subject to the stability of the

technical conditions of the product, and the stability of the requirements addressed by environmental certification

systems under study.

4.

In the absence of changes in the characteristics of the product referred or variation in versions of the certification

tool that affect product evaluation, the validity of the record shall be 2 years from the date of publication of this

report, Feb 2014

MATERIAL AND RESOURCES CATEGORY

Credit: MR c4: Recycled Content

INTENT

Use materials with recycled content to reduce the demand for raw material. There are 2 types of recycled content in the materials:

1. Post consumer (material that have reached the end of its life cycle)

2. Pre consumption (prior to consumer use and therefore materials that have not come to be used, such as cuts or leftovers from the process of manufacture of the material)

The higher the post consumer content, the higher the percentage achieved in recycled content. The sum of the percentage will be calculated by the post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of pre-consumer recycled content.

EVALUATION

METHOD Based on the total cost of material used in the project.

The amount of recycled content of post-consumer and half of pre-consumer should be at least 10-20% of the total cost of the value of materials in the project. Multiply the total percentage of recycled content by total material cost.

FIMAPAN (Finsa Santiago) 90% 14% 11%

SUPERPAN (Finsa Porto) 90% 25% 2%

FIMAPAN (Finsa Cella) 90% 63% 13%

If the product is FSC certified, post consumer percentage is 100% for the

control system used.

MATERIAL AND RESOURCES CATEGORY

Credit: MR c5: Regional Material

INTENT

To increase demand for building material and products that are extracted and manufactured within

the local region. Use building materials or product that are extracted, harvested or recovered, as well as manufactured within 500 miles (800km) from the construction site.

EVALUATION

METHOD Estimate the percentage of local materials, considering a range of 500 miles (800km) and the distance of both the raw material and the final product weighted means of transport: railway, inland waterway, maritime and others.

COMPLIANCE WITH REQUIREMENTS

NOTE: The final result to determine the total points depends on the calculation of all building materials. This material contributes to meet the sustainability criteria.

This credit is calculated within the 500miles radius drawn from the project site location.

MATERIAL AND RESOURCES CATEGORY

Credit: MR c6: Rapidly Renewable Materials

INTENT

To reduce the use and depletion of finite raw materials and long-cycle renewable materials by replacing them with rapidly renewable materials.

EVALUATION

METHOD Use rapidly renewable building materials and products from 2.5% of the total value of all buildings

materials and products used in the project, based on the cost. Rapidly renewable building materials and products are made form plants that are typically harvested within a 10-year or shorter cycle.

INTENT

To encourage environmental responsible forest management.

EVALUATION

METHOD Use a minimum of 50% (based on cost) of wood-based materials and products that are certified in

accordance with e Forest Stewardship Council’s principles and criteria, for wood building components. These components include at a minimum, structural framing and general dimensional framing, flooring, sob-flooring, wood doors and finishes.

Include only materials permanently installed in the project. Wood products purchased for temporary use on the project (e.g. formwork, bracing, scaffolding, sidewalk protection, and guard rails) may be included in the calculation at the project team’s discretion. If any such materials are included, all such materials must be included in the calculations. In such materials are purchased for use on multiple projects, the applicant may be included if it is included consistently in MR c3: Material Reuse, through MR c7: Certified Wood (MR c 6 for Core & Shell projects).

Products identified as FSC Pure, FSC Mixed and FSC Mixed (NN)% are included. Are not taken into account in calculating the products identified as FSC Recycled.
