Corporate Overview

We are a global industrial technology leader, we apply our deep knowledge of metallurgy, friction management and power transmission to improve the reliability and efficiency of machinery all around the world. We engineer, manufacture and market mechanical components and high-performance steel. Our bearings, engineered-steel bars and tubes - as well as transmissions, gearboxes, chain and related products and services support diversified markets worldwide. With sales over $ 5 billion and approximately 21,000 people operating from 30 countries, Timken makes the world more productive and keeps the industry in motion.

Our company's founder, Henry Timken, built the company in 1899 around an idea: to make machinery more efficient through innovation. That idea led to the patenting of the tapered roller bearing. That same spirit of innovation remains at the heart of our company today. It fuels our imagination and inspires us to create new ideas and products that help contribute to a more productive world.

Timken India Limited, a subsidiary of the Timken Company, started its operations in 1989. In keeping with global standards, the first state-ofthe-art manufacturing facility was set up in Jamshedpur in 1992. To cater to the growing market, Timken has subsequently set up a manufacturing facility in Chennai in 2008.

The Timken Technology Centre in Bangalore is one of the four Timken innovation and development centers around the world, which provides our customers a unique opportunity. to access global pool of engineering expertise and the latest technological advancements. In India, Timken has launched its first Gear Service facility outside of the United States in Raipur. With a shop area of 33000 sq. ft. and spread over 2 acres, this dedicated facility supports all servicing and repair requirements of large industrial gear boxes apart from offering a host of key services that address the gearbox needs of every customer.

Our product portfolio includes helicopter transmissions, rotor- head assemblies, bearings, turbine engine components, and gears and housings. We also provide a wide range of aftermarket products and services, including complete engine overhaul, bearing repair, component reconditioning and replacement parts.
