Fi h Sunday in Ordinary Time Mark 1:29-39
“He came and took her by the hand and li ed her up” The Gospel stories tell us that as well as healing, cas ng out demons, and preaching, Jesus was in the habit of going off to a quiet place to pray. He felt this need to be in touch with the fact that he was the Father’s beloved. He must have found the lack of human affirma on very wearing.
In prayer, perhaps you might speak to Jesus about your shared experience of this lack of human acceptance and apprecia on. Let him tell you how much he appreciates you as a companion and as one who shares his work. No ce and express how much you resist as well as relish what he says to you.
Our church parish will be participating in a Baby Bottle Fundraiser on April 17-18th to help support Crossroads Pregnancy Resource Center.
Crossroads, located in Thibodaux, is a life-affirming Christian organization serving women struggling with an unexpected pregnancy who may be considering abortion. Founded in 2002 by Bishop Oscar Solis and St. Joseph parishioners, Crossroads has helped over 3,000 women and men in Lafourche, Terrebonne, As-sumption, Saint James, and Saint Mary parishes.
**Crossroads does not refer for abortions.**

KC NEWS...In December, the Church and St. Gene-vieve Knights of Columbus teamed up to deliver meals and goodie bags to about 25 of our home-bound parishioners. The Knights prepared chicken and sausage gumbo and rice and the parish pre-pared the goodie bags. Funding for this project was provided by the parish. In January, the Knights prepared chicken jambalaya, white beans, and French bread and delivered these meals to 29 of our homebound parishioners. The Knights provided the labor and funding for the January project and the church staff helped coordinate the deliveries. The Knights would like to thank Scarlet and Jackie in the church office for helping to organize these projects.

Ponder a moment this quote from an elementary student’s point of view. How seriously we must
take our role in their future! We are here to touch that future, drama cally. We hope that you see
our school as an investment in the future.
