stCCLC Program Policies:
Attendance
Students are expected to attend on a regular basis. Failure to maintain attendance requirements (at least 3 days per week) will result in termination from the program.
Twelve (12) days of absences in any one month will require a doctor’s note to maintain active status in the program. Students must attend school during the regular school day in order to attend the after-school program.
Behavior
The after-school and summer program discipline policies align with Marion County Public Schools’ Code of Student Conduct. Behavior policies expected during the regular school day will carry over to the 21
stCCLC program. Students must comply with district, school, and classroom policies. Dangerous, unsafe, or frequent misbehaviors will not be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal from the program.
Special Needs Students
21
stCCLC’s program goal is to accommodate students and parents with special needs/disabilities.
Snacks
Each day, students will be provided a healthy snack free of charge.
Student Termination
Students will be removed from the 21
stCCLC program if any of the following behaviors are observed: regular and excessive absences/tardies, behavior that threatens physical or emotional safety of others, or at the written request of a parent/guardian.
Field Trip Permission
Permission slips are required if a student is taken off campus. The same district and school policies will carry over to the 21
stCCLC program.
Standard Photography Release
During the 21
stCCLC programs, photographs of student and adult participation may be taken and will be used solely for the purpose of documentation of program events and/or promotion of the 21
stCCLC program. Videotaping of certain events may occur for the purposes of sharing lessons between sites, promotion of the program, and/or parent involvement activities.
Medical Management
Our 21
stCCLC After-School Program staff members are trained for medical emergencies (CPR and First Aid), as well as Epinephrine injections (EpiPen) and medication administration. However, please be aware the Marion County Health Department does not provide nurse coverage, oversight, or training after school hours, and if an emergency occurs, the after-school program staff will call 911.
Parents/Guardians may request they be called to manage any medical problems themselves and are encouraged to attend any off-campus trips to aid in the medical management of their child.
Hours of Operation
The 21
stCCLC program will begin immediately after dismissal of the regular school
day and continue for 3 hours, Monday through Thursday except for days the school
is closed and half days. An annual calendar is available upon request.
Parent & Student Agreements:
Parents/Guardians
Provide and keep updated medical information, emergency contacts and current mailing address to both the 21
stCCLC program site coordinator and the front office staff at the school. Parents/Guardians are expected to visit and volunteer during the after-school program as much as possible.
