The Device is Not Detected

Check the following:

Does the device you are using support Canon Mobile Scanning for Business? (→ "About Supported Printers and Multi-function Devices")

Connection settings of the device, the wireless router, and the mobile terminal:

Depending on the network environment to which the mobile terminal is connected, the device might not be discovered by [Select Device] - [Auto Search]. If this happens, enter the IP address of the device in [Manual Search].

The device may be discovered if the mobile terminal is restarted.

If the device is still not discovered, check the network settings of the device, the wireless router, and the mobile terminal, or contact your network administrator.

Did you enter a FQDN (format including host name, sub-domain name, and domain name) when searching for devices by specify DNS?

<FQDN Entry Sample> If the host name is "device01", the sub-domain name is "aaa", and the domain name is "bbb.com":

device01.aaa.bbb.com

If an HTTP proxy is set in the network settings of the mobile terminal, depending on the device you may not be able to connect correctly from this app. If this happens, contact your network administrator.

Are the Wi-Fi settings enabled on your mobile terminal?

Does the wireless network your mobile terminal is connected to and the network your device is connected to match?

If the device is not on the same network, follow the procedure "Manual Search by Specifying IP Address/DNS."

Network settings of the Canon device: Is <SNMPv1> set to [On]?

Is the gateway address set correctly? Is the subnet mask set correctly?

Cannot Scan

In the following devices, there are printer models that support print functions only. Although devices corresponding to these printer models can be detected from [Auto Search]/[Manual Search] in this app, they cannot scan.

imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5240 imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5250

If you are scanning from an imageRUNNER ADVANCE, and set a file name at the device that includes diacritical marks or certain symbols such as double-byte characters, umlauts, and/or accents, the data cannot be correctly received in this app and a transmission failure error message will be displayed at the device.

When specifying a file name at the device, enter a file name using single-byte roman characters or single-byte symbols (ASCII characters).

If you are scanning from an imageRUNNER ADVANCE and are using iOS 5.x with an iPad, this app may not operate correctly depending on the size of the scanned data. If this happens, reducing the scanned data amount by lowering the resolution in the scan settings of the device etc. will improve operation. This phenomenon does not occur from iOS 6 onward.

(26)

Cannot Print

To use the print functions, you need to install Canon Mobile Printing Version 2.0.0 or later in your mobile terminal beforehand.

You can access the Canon Mobile Printing download page by searching "Canon Mobile Printing" in the App Store.

If the Canon Mobile Printing version already installed is old, perform an update installation from the App Store.

For other print troubleshooting procedures, refer to the Canon Mobile Printing help or support site. You can access the support site by tapping [App Support Site] in the help screen of this app.

How to Confirm the IP Address of the

Device

You can confirm the IP address from the network settings screen of the device. For details, refer to the manuals provided with the device.

NOTE

In the case of a device for which manager settings have been configured, you need to enter a password. For details, refer to the manuals that are provided with the device or contact your system administrator.

Restrictions When Separating Files

When scanning a plurality of originals and outputting a JPEG format file, the scanned data will be separated into multiple files.

When scanning with an imageRUNNER ADVANCE device, you can set the <Divide into Pages> function at the device.

In these cases, perform the following operations.

Save/Email/Print

Save, email, or print only the file displayed in the preview screen. Perform operations on the required files one file at a time.

NOTE

* are displayed in the names of the files that you have not saved emailed, or printed.

File Preview

Tap [ ] or [ ] at the bottom of the preview screen to switch between and check file previews.

NOTE

In iPads with iOS 5.x installed, if you preview scanned data separated into multiple files, switching the display between the previous page and next page may not operate correctly. If this happens, operation might be improved by lowering the scanned data size by decreasing the resolution in the scan settings of the device. This problem does not occur in iOS 6 and later.

(27)
