How to find your Wireless Security Information in Windows 8.1
NOTE: This information is available on a wireless PC that is connected to your wireless network.
1. Move your mouse to the lower left corner of the Desktop or Start screen.
2. Right-click the screen and then left-click Control Panel.
3. Click Network and Internet.
4. Click Network and Sharing Center.
5. Click on your wireless network. The Wi-Fi Status window will appear.
6. Click on Wireless Properties.
7. Click on the Security tab.
8. Click on Show Characters. Make note of the Security Type, Encryption Type, and Network Security Key.
How to find your Wireless Security Information in Windows 8
NOTE: This information is available on a wireless PC that is connected to your wireless network.
1. Access the Settings Charm using one of the following steps:
a. Press Windows Key + I. The Settings Charm will open.
b. Using the screen cursor:
i. Place the cursor on the upper-right or lower-right of the screen. The Charms Menu will appear.
ii. Left-click the Settings Charm. The Settings Charm Menu will open.
2. Click the Networks Icon. The Networks Menu will appear.
3. Right-click the SSID/Network Name of your wireless network.
NOTE: The SSID should have the word "Connected" beside it. If not, the computer is not connected wirelessly or connected to the wrong wireless network. Connect the computer to the correct wireless network before continuing.
4. Left-click View Connection Properties. The Wireless Connection Properties window will open on the Desktop with the Security tab already selected.
5. Left-click Show Characters to check-box to check it. The Network Security Key will be shown. Make note of the Security Type, Encryption Type, and Network Security Key.

1. Click Start, and in the Search Programs and Files line, type Network and Sharing.
Select Network and Sharing Center from the list.

1. Download the Wireless Setup Helper

2. File Download - Security Warning: Click Run.
3. Internet Explorer - Security Warning: Click Run.
4. License Agreement: Click Accept.
5. Activation Confirmation: Check the Checked and Confirmed box and click Next.
6. Make note of the SSID and Network Key.
How to find your Wireless Security Information in Windows XP
NOTE: Windows XP will not display the network key. You will need to know this information or will need to contact the manufacturer of your wireless access point or wireless router for this network information.
1. Open Network Connections (Click on Start, select Run and type ncpa.cpl. Press OK.)
2. Right click on your Wireless Network Connection and select Properties.
3. Select the Wireless Networks tab.
4. If Windows in not managing the wireless adapter, place a check in Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings.
5. Highlight your current Preferred Network and click Properties.
6. Make note of the Network Authentication and Data Encryption. Click OK to close.
7. If you selected Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings in STEP 4, remove the check. Click OK to close.
