Graduate Program

Information Concerning the Application for Admission

Students are admitted to the Interior Design, Merchandising & Textiles graduate programs at different times of the year. To be most competitive for

assistantships, students should apply no later than March 15 for the fall semester and October 15 for the spring semester. Applications are evaluated by the faculty only if the application is complete (e.g., items 1-8 on page 2 of this form) by the deadlines below.

application folder on file in the Interior Design, Merchandising & Textiles Department to receive an admissions decision.

April 1 November 1 Decision date for selection of successful applicants and notification sent concerning the decision reached.

May 1 November 1 Deadline for successful applicants to notify the Director of Graduate Studies of their intention to enroll.

Students may take courses under post-baccalaureate status prior to admission to the program. Up to (9) hours of these and any other graduate work may be transferred tot he program. Post-baccalaureate status does not guarantee admission to the Interior Design, Merchandising & Textiles Program. Note: Keep pages 1 and 2 for your records. Complete and return pages 3-5.

Graduate Program Applicant Checklist

Students applying to the graduate program in Interior Design, Merchandising & Textiles should provide the following items of information before their application will be considered. The list

below will provide you with the items needed and to what office they should be sent. Keep this checklist for your records.

______1. Graduate Record Exam Scores. The department needs to be informed of

these scores by its deadline. However, the Graduate School must receive an official report of these scores by its deadline (one month prior to the beginning of the term for which you are applying).

______2. Two copies of official transcripts for all previous undergraduate and

graduate work.

______3. A Graduate School Application. Electronic applications are available at:

______4. Interior Design, Merchandising & Textiles graduate program application.

______5. Three letters of recommendation from persons who can attest to your likely

success in graduate work.

______6. One copy of transcripts (need not be official copies) for all previous

graduate and undergraduate work.

______7. An assistantship/ fellowship application form if financial assistance is

desired.

______8. A portfolio of design work for students applying to the Interior Design

program. A digital portfolio may be submitted.
