Donations to the Bishop’s Ministry appeal help support the young men who have been called by God to the priesthood. The diocese bears the cost of tuition, room and board for each of our seminarians. By supporting our seminarians throughout discernment, they have the freedom to follow God’s will without asking, “Can I afford it?” Most candidates come with no independent means of support, no “nest egg.” With your gifts, money will never serve as a roadblock between young men and the priesthood. “Money can never be an issue for a viable candidate,” says Bishop Stephen Blaire. It costs the diocese over $35,000 each year for each of our seminarians. This includes room and board, tuition, books, medical insurance, and a small annual stipend. The road to becoming a priest is challenging, long, and expensive. It is important to support the young men who have heard the call from God. What can you do? Donating to the Bishop’s Ministry Appeal gives us the opportunity to participate in the work Jesus calls us to do. Pray for our seminarians.. PRESENTATION PARISH SCHOOL 1635 W. (4) MINISTERIO EN ESPAÑOL. ADULT FORMATION. Segundo Domingo de Cuaresma. Question of the Week/Pregunta de la Semana March 1 Second Sunday of Lent. Gospel: Mark 9:2–10 Adults: How deeply do I believe that God is for me, and no one can destroy me? Children: What would I ask God to do for me or my family? LECTURAS DE LA SEMANA Lunes:. Dn 9:4b-10; Sal 79 (78):8, 9, 11, 13; Lc 6:36-38 Martes: Is 1:10, 16-20; Sal 50 (49):8-9, 16bc-17, 21, 23; Mt 23:1-12 Miércoles:Jer 18:18-20; Sal 31 (30):5-6, 14-16; Mt 20:17-28 Jueves: Jer 17:5-10; Sal 1:1-4, 6; Lc 16:19-31 Viernes: Gn 37:3-4, 12-13a, 17b-28a; Sal 105 (104): 16-21; Mt 21:33-43, 45-46 Sábado: Mi 7:14-15, 18-20; Sal 103 (102):1-4, 9-12; Lc 15:1-3, 11-32 Domingo: Ex 20:1-17 [1-3, 7-8, 12-17]; Sal 19 (18):8-11; 1 Cor 1:22-25; Jn 2:13-25 Lecturas alternativas (Año A): Ex 17:3-7; Sal 95 (94):1-2, 6-9; Rom 5:1-2, 5-8; Jn 4:5-42 [5-15, 19b-26, 39a, 40-42]. (6) Monsignor’s Corner DIVINIZATION: This idea is as old as Athanasius, a 4th Century bishop: “The Son of God became man so that man might become God.” In the 13th Century St. Thomas Aquinas said: “The Son of God, wanting to make us sharers in his divinity, assumed our nature, so that He, made man, might make men Gods.” In 1994 the Catholic Catechism tells us: “The Word became flesh to make us partakers of the divine nature.” (#460) OMG During Lent let’s work on this challenge. Msgr. Larry. Our Lenten offering will assist the…. Red Rhino Orphanage Project.. Kindly return the boxes the second Sunday of Easter at the church entrances by placing them in the collection barrels.. Please pick up a red Lenten Red Rhino donation box at one of the church entrances. In fact, we If you desire, please place your encourage each family member name on the boxes you return. to take a box. Consider not only placing your spare change in the box but also any sacrifices made during Lent, such as not going to Starbucks, a movie or other favorite activity. Help make a difference in the lives of children in and around Nairobi, Kenya..
