Blue Heron Days provides a terrific opportunity to unite the residents of Lino Lakes and to celebrate the successes of the community. The Blue Heron Days parade provides a unique avenue to showcase a variety of different talents, businesses, and organizations to a large audience.
Lino Lakes Blue Heron Days would like your organization to help celebrate our festival by registering for the 17th Annual Blue Heron Days Parade, which will be held on Saturday, August 21st, 2021. The lineup will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the parade will start promptly at 11:00 a.m. The parade route travels down Lake Drive, starting at Marketplace Drive (by Dairy Queen) and ending at James Street (right before US Bank).
If you are interested in participating in the Blue Heron Days parade, simply fill out the enclosed parade entry form and return it by Friday, August 20, 2021 to the address below along with the application fee and waiver. All payments must be submitted with your application to have consideration into the parade.

Parade Information:
The Blue Heron Days parade will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 am. Cost of
participation is $25 due at the time of application submittal. Note no fee for Emergency organizations or non-profits such as 501c organizations. The application fee helps cover the cost of promotion, security personnel, and county road closure permits.
Parade Guidelines:
Participants must be in their assigned space in the lineup 30 minutes prior to the parade start time.
Each entry must fit entirely in the space allotted during line up.
Please stay within 40' of your float during the parade.
Pacing of the parade is critical to avoid gaps in viewing. Keep the parade in motion; stay with the unit ahead of you. Allow 30' of space between units.
All displays, decorations, music and language must be suitable for a family audience. The Blue Heron Days Parade Coordinator reserves all rights to refuse participation by an entrant, who in the judgment of the coordinator, does not adhere to this criteria.
All participants are expected to always perform in good taste and with safety in mind.
Throwing of distribution items from vehicles or floats is discouraged. Please hand items out at the curb.
Blue Heron Days and the City of Lino Lakes reserves the right to refuse any item considered inappropriate for distribution.
No alcoholic beverages of any kind will be allowed. Smoking is discouraged during the parade.
Parade Order/Lineup:
The Parade Coordinator will determine the order of appearance for units in the Blue Heron Days' parade. The order is determined to establish variety, as well as the best utilization of the
participants. Any applications received later than the deadline (if approved) will be placed at the end of the parade line up.
Inclement Weather Policy:
Should inclement weather occur prior to the parade, Blue Heron Days officials will determine if it is severe enough to cancel or delay the parade, and information will be available by calling or texting the coordinator 612-581-2047. It will also be posted on https://linolakes.us/blueherondays website.
We request you make provisions for inclement weather. Refund of registration fees will not be provided due to cancellation.

One person in your unit must sign and return the waiver form provided in the application packet and return it along with the parade application.
Additional Information:
After receipt of your parade application, signed waiver and payment, and acceptance by the Blue Heron Days Parade Coordinator, you will receive additional information related to parade line up and other pertinent information after the parade application deadline.

Parade Participant Waiver
l, as a representative of the undersigned unit/organization, have agreed for our benefit to participant in the Lino Lakes Blue Heron Days Parade.
l/we understand that inherent in our participation is the risk of serious
personal injury and property damage. l/we understand that the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, the Blue Heron Days Festival, all volunteers/employees of these entities will not provide us with protection against such injury and damage, and l/we assume all risk of such injury and damage to myself and all others under my direction and control, and to my property and all other property under my direction and control.
l/we hereby waive and release any claim we have and may have in the future against the City of Lino Lakes, Anoka County, the Blue Heron Days Festival, all volunteers/employees of these entities, for any personal injury, property damage or other damage that l/we may sustain, whether or not caused in whole or in part by the negligence of such members which occurs during or as a result of our participation in the Blue Heron Days parade.
Furthermore, I represent that myself or anyone operating a vehicle in the Blue Heron Days Parade or in conjunction with the event has a valid driver's license and has appropriate vehicle insurance.
THIS AGREEMENT MUST BE SIGNED BELOW AND RETURNED WITH PARADE APPLICATION AND PARADE FEE BEFORE
