It is possible to send non-standard items after having selected the option „Handling of non-standard items” (DB SCHENKERparcel+) in Schenker’s IT systems (or integrated application) and print out the relevant label. This will allow you to quickly identify a shipment whose handling requires additional work or special treatment at one or more stages of the shipment handling process.

Use regular shaped cardboard packaging (rectangular, tube).
Choose the right cardboard box and the size of the packaging according to the dimensions of the goods. A carton that is too small may burst, causing damage or soiling to the goods inside.

Check the quality of the content, packaging and protection by:―
Checking that the packaging does not deform under pressure.―
Checking there are no unwanted noises coming from the interior, which could indicate that the range has shifted or that the content is too loose.―
Checking that the goods are not moving freely inside the packaging.―
Checking that the packaging is not torn at any point.―
Checking that the tape does not tear, which may give access to the content.―
Remember to fill the inside of the packaging. Use a cavity filler that prevents the product from moving inside the packaging. Commonly used fillers (the filling must be selected according to the goods to be shipped):―

D . Maximum gross weight of the item – 30 kg
The shipment of dangerous goods with applicable exemptions from parts of the ADR requirements (according to section 1.1.3.6) – i.e. above the quantitative limits specified for goods shipped as LQ – is NOT permitted with DB SCHENKERparcel+.
DB SCHENKER offers instead the use of the product DB SCHENKERsystem

Please note: for weight limits up to 30 kg gross, it is not permitted to ship LQ dangerous goods in packs (i.e. individual packages placed in a tray secured with shrink film/stretch film).
