It is possible to send non-standard items after having selected the option „Handling of non-standard items” (DB SCHENKERparcel+) in Schenker’s IT systems (or integrated application) and print out the relevant label. This will allow you to quickly identify a shipment whose handling requires additional work or special treatment at one or more stages of the shipment handling process.

Check the quality of the content, packaging and protection by:

Checking that the packaging does not deform under pressure.

―

Checking there are no unwanted noises coming from the interior, which could indicate that the range has shifted or that the content is too loose.

Checking that the goods are not moving freely inside the packaging.

Checking that the packaging is not torn at any point.

―

Checking that the tape does not tear, which may give access to the content.

Remember to fill the inside of the packaging. Use a cavity filler that prevents the product from moving inside the packaging. Commonly used fillers (the filling must be selected according to the goods to be shipped):

packaging, i.e. bottles resting loosely in the packaging with no protection separating the bottles from each other, are unacceptable for transport.

• Alcohol cartons without any markings indicating their fragile contents are not acceptable.

At every stage of DB Schenker’s handling of a shipment,

it is possible to carry out a parameter check to verify the correct weight and dimensions permitted for individual parcel products.

Recognition of a shipment as DB SCHENKERparcel+ by

DB Schenker employees without prior selection of the appropriate option by the Consignor or the Ordering Party will result in an additional charge.

―

D . Maximum gross weight of the item – 30 kg

The shipment of dangerous goods with applicable exemptions from parts of the ADR requirements (according to section 1.1.3.6) – i.e. above the quantitative limits specified for goods shipped as LQ – is NOT permitted with DB SCHENKERparcel+.

shipments containing medicinal products which require the application of the provisions of the Pharmaceutical Law and Good Distribution Practice;

documents and correspondence as defined by law;

consignments for which Schenker does not hold a separate licence or permit or the carriage of which is prohibited by law;

hazardous materials (ADR) or hazardous materials in exempted quantities (EQ);

liquid materials in the DB SCHENKERparcel product;

paints and varnishes;

waste;

goods that cannot be consolidated with other goods;

―

consignments without the documentation required under the specific legislation;

―

shipments which do not comply with the definitions

of the basic services contained in the Terms and Conditions of Domestic Services;

―

goods without suitable transport packaging, unpackaged or inadequately packaged goods;

―

goods requiring special arrangements for loading, securing, transporting and unloading;

―

very heavy goods (causing uneven weight distribution on the vehicle).
