ARCHIAS’ LOW PRICES

It has been over 52 years since the first farmers of Missouri and nearby states intrusted

the results^ of the year’s cultivation to the vitality of “Archias’ seeds.” “SURE SEEDS,”

as Archias’ seeds were later called, have been planted by increased numbers of successful

gardeners, farmers, and flower lovers each year. Our trade name, “SURE SEEDS,” was

really given to our seeds by those who planted them year after year. Through your support,

Archias’ Seed Store Corp. has grown to first place in quality, dependability, and economy.

Our policy for 1936 will continue as before, to offer the highest possible grade of seeds, plants,

bulbs and nursery stock at lowest prices.

In sincere appreciation in the past and to help new friends become acquainted with us, we wish to

give each of you a collection of free flower seeds for 1936. We refer you to the page at the left for

detailed information. There has been some shortage in some of the seed crops this past year and so

we urge you to send your order early. Some varieties when sold out cannot be replaced.

With kind regards and sincere wishes for a most successful agricultural season in 1936, we are

Sincerely yours.

Here is a new and distinct variety that was developed by a veteran Tomato grow¬ er. Topsail is a medium early variety that continues to bear throughout the sea¬ son. The vines are strong and vigorous like Marglobe. The fruits are nearly round or slightly flattened, of large site, always smooth, ripen evenly and are a bright deep scarlet all the way through, extremely solid with few seeds. Topsail ripens slight¬ ly earlier than Marglobe, bears until frost and is an extra heavy yielding sort. It is resistant to both blight and rust. Here is a fine Tomato for both home and market. Pkt., 15c; V2 oz., 55c; oz., 60c; V4 lb., $2.00, prepaid.

HOW A

GOOD LAWN

IS MADE

The preparation of the soil in which to plant a lawn is by far the most im¬ portant step toward success. The sur¬ face should be thoroughly spaded or

■slewed to a depth of ten inches. Well rotted manure, or better still, Archias’

“Sure Lawn” fertilizer, should be thoroughly mixed with soil. The soil should be well pulverized and rolled be¬ fore sowing. It requires approximately one pound of seed to every three hun¬ dred square feet or seventy-five to one hundred pounds to the acre. Be sure to sow evenly and rake in, water regularly and carefully. Do not allow seed bed to dry out during germination period. When grass is three inches high cut and roll again. Repeat until grass is firm. The lawn should be kept free from weeds the first season.

Archias’ Evergreen Lawn Grass Seed

Flowers in pots, boxes or in the garden, vegetables and also fruit and ornamental trees and shrubs show marked increase in growth and beauty by a liberal application of lime. Apply about a pound to every 30 square feet surface and rake in gently. This may be done before plant¬ ing or after plants are several inches high. 10-lb. bag, 25c; 50 lbs., 65c; 100 lbs., $1.00.
