SPECIAL NOTE: Installation Sequences

After TMS and Safety mandated preparatory steps have been taken, the installation sequence is the suggested method for completing the accessory installation. In some instances the suggested sequence is written for one associate to install and in others the sequence is given as part of a team accessory installation. Unless otherwise stated in the document, the associates may perform the installation steps in any order to make the installation as efficient as possible while consistent quality.

Also some items listed to be removed may not need to be removed if caution is taken to not damage vehicle.

VEHICLE PREPARATION

INSTALLING THE SECURITY SYSTEM

1. Mounting the L.E.D. / Valet Switch :

A. Locate the small switch blank left of the steering column and right of the coin holder.

B. Carefully drill a 5 / 16 " diameter hole centered in the top half of the switch blank.

C. Remove the knurled mounting nut from the back of the switch, pass the wires through the hole, then secure the switch with the knurled nut.

2. Preparing the L.E.D. / Valet Switch :

A. Locate the 4 pin Molex connector found in the hardware bag included in the kit.

B. Carefully plug the terminals at the ends of the 4 wires from the switch into the connector housing as shown.

IMPORTANT ! Be sure to align the terminal correctly before inserting it into

the connector housing.

B. Refer to the vehicle repair manual, and remove the lower dash storage tray, lower steering column cover and dimmer switch panel to gain access to JB #1, the Driver's Side Kick Panel, and the Ignition Switch Connectors.

A. Remove the negative battery cable before installing Security System Components for safety precautions.

A. Measure 3/4" down from the top of the switch covers and 3/4" out from the switch covers.

B. Carefully drill a 5 / 16 " diameter hole at this location. C. Remove the knurled mounting nut from the back of the switch, pass the wires through the hole, then secure the switch with the knurled nut.

5. Mounting the Hood Pin Switch Bracket :

A. Locate the existing 10 mm hex head bolt in the driver's side front fender.

B. Remove the 10mm bolt, then position the pin switch mounting bracket into place. Replace and tighten the bolt securely when the bracket is in place. C. Thread the pin switch into the bracket, and tighten securely.

3. Mounting the Shock Sensor Module :

A. Use (2) of the short black cable ties provided in the hardware bag, and secure the shock sensor to the main vehicle harness behind the driver's side JB.

IMPORTANT NOTE ! Be sure to pass the cable

ties through the holes in the upper and lower mounting tabs of the shock sensor. Wrap the cable ties around the main harness and secure the shock sensor to the harness.

4. Mounting the Main Control Module :

A. Secure the main module to the harness above and behind the driver side JB using the long cable ties and adhesive pad provided in the hardware bag.

D. Punch a small hole in the bulkhead grommet below the main engine harness and route the Black/ White pin switch wire to the interior of the vehicle. Apply a suitiable sealer to prevent water entry into the vehicle.

8. Connecting the Security System Harness :

A. Carefully follow the wiring diagram and factory connector details found on the following two pages.

7. Installing the Shock Sensor Harness :

A. Route the portion of the harness which includes the Brown, Brown w/ White, and Blue w/ White wires to the driver's side JB. Route the 6 pin ignition connectors over the steering column to the ignition switch.

B. Secure the main harness along it's routing with the cable ties provided. Be sure that the harness is clear of all sharp and moving objects.

C. Route the Brown Trunk Trigger wire under the door scuff plates to the trunk area with the vehicle harness.

6. Routing the Main Harness : All Models Except XRS

A. Plug the 5 pin end of the harness into the mating connector on the main control module.

B. Route the harness towards the shock sensor, where it will not interfere with any sharp or moving objects.

C. Secure the harness along the routing path using the cable ties provided.

IMPORTANT ! Make sure that the brake pedal, accelerator pedal, and

DK. GREEN WIRE Starter Disable Relay 10 A. Fuse

Locate the BLACK / WHITE hood pin switch exten-sion wire included in the kit. Plug one end of the ex-tension wire into the DARK GREEN WIRE on the alarm harness, route the extension wire through the bulk-head grommet, and plug the other end of the exten-sion onto the pin switch.

Shock Sensor

Main Control Module Disconnect the Ignition Switch Connector I10, and Plug the Security Harness Into the Ignition Switch.

4 Pin Molex Connector - Plug Into Lighted System Control Switch.

Connect the Ignition Switch Connector I10 to the Security Harness Here.

BLACK WIRE Connect the ring terminal to the 10 mm

ground bolt behind the dash near the steering column, at the actory Ground Location IF.

BLUE / WHITE WIRE: Use red T-Tap and connect to the BLUE / RED WIRE in connector ID, Pin 8.

BROWN WIRE: Use red T-Tap and connect to the RED WIRE in connector IK, Pin 4.

BROWN / WHITE WIRE: Use the Trunk Extension Wire and a red T-Tap and connect to the RED / WHITE WIRE in trunk area. (Refer to page 7 for location)

WHITE WIRE: Use red T-Tap and connect to the GREEN / WHITE WIRE in connector C12, Pin 13. GREEN / RED WIRE: Use red T-Tap and connect to the GREEN / YELLOW WIRE in connector C10, Pin 1.

BLUE WIRE: Use red T-Tap and connect to the RED WIRE in connector C12, Pin 8.

Location : At Back Of Ignition Switch, behind lower

Steer-ing Column Cover Panel.

4. CONNECTOR C12 : Comb. Switch

Location : Top of Steering Column, at Headlight Switch.

COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION

1. Testing the System :

A. Prior to delivering thevehicle, test all features of the system according to the owner's manual included.

2. Assemble all Removed Panels to the Vehicle :

A. Refer again to the vehicle repair manual and re assemble all panels that were removed for installation back onto the vehicle.

3. Preparing the Vehicle for Delivery:

A. Place the system into Valet mode. ( VPC only )

1. Start with the L.E.D. / Valet switch in the off ( out ) position. 2. Turn the ignition key to the on position.

3. Press the L.E.D. / Valet switch one time. The switch is in the in position, and the red L.E.D. is turned on solid, indicating that the system is in valet mode.

B. Place the KEYLESS ENTRY UPGRADE owner's manual in the vehicle glove box.

C. Install the warning decals provided in the kit to driver and passenger side windows. With window rolled up, install warning decals 1" above window seal and 3/8" from rear of Toyota E-Z-Eye etching.

D. OPTIONAL: Turn the arm / disarm chirps off.

1. Start with the L.E.D. / Valet switch in the off ( out ) position. 2. Turn the ignition key to the on position.

3. Turn the ignition key off, then immediately press and release the L.E.D. / Valet switch 3 times. You will hear 2 chirps to confirm that the chirps were turned off.
