A software delivery model in which software and associated data are centrally hosted on the cloud e.g.: Google Apps, WebEX, Sales Force, Microsoft Exchange and McAfee.

INFRASTRUCTURE-AS-A-SERVICE (IAAS)

A provision model in which an organisation outsources the equipment used to support operations, including storage, hardware, servers and networking components e.g.: IBM, Amazon, Azure and EMC Mozy.

PLATFORM-AS-A-SERVICE (PAAS)

A category of cloud computing services that provides a platform and environment to allow developers to build applications and services over the internet e.g.: VMware and Microsoft Exchange.

HYBRID CLOUD

A composition of two or more clouds (private, community or public) that remain unique entities but are bound together, offering the benefits of multiple deployment models.
