General Information

The Program is a 20-month course. It runs from March 2014 to November 2015. The SDA Bocconi Admissions Service must receive the application form and all required documents within September 10, 2013 (1st deadline) and December 10, 2013 (2nd deadline). It is acceptable for candidates to start sending the application form to the Admissions Service and than send additional required documents (GMAT, TOEFL, etc.) at a later date.

It is important to note that, given the limited number of places available, candidates should send the application form as soon as possible in order to have a greater chance of being admitted to the Program.

Accordingly, a higher number of seats will be granted to candidates who send their application form by the first deadline. While the selection process is based on both the candidates’ profile and the arrival date of their application, it also guarantees that the class framework is c o n s i s t e n t w i t h t h e h i g h l e v e l o f d i v e r s i t y a n d geographical heterogeneity promoted by the School for the Global EMBA.

The Selection Phases

When SDA Bocconi receives an application for admission, it carries out a pre-selection process based on the initial documents sent. The Admissions Committee then lets the candidate know if he/she is considered suitable to proceed to the selection process. The final assessment of each application will take place once the candidate has completed all required tests and submitted all required documents. Candidates admitted into the program must confirm their participation based on deadlines set by the Admissions Service..

Admissions Requirements

To be considered for admission, candidates must fulfil the following minimum requirements:

• Degree certificate in any discipline

• Minimum of 5-6 years professional experience • Proficiency in English

• Strong motivation

• IT competency and laptop with Internet connection • Good leadership skills and interpersonal skills

Application Form

The application form must be completed with accurate and precise information regarding your personal and professional experiences, your reasons for desiring to attend the Program. The application form must be completed with the following documents:

Degree Certificate

An official degree certificate from the College or University attended, along with a transcript of grades for individual courses/modules. The type of degree, date of graduation, dates of enrolment, grades received and the g r a d i n g s c a l e m u s t b e c l e a r l y s t a t e d i n t h i s documentation.

Detailed Curriculum Vitae Copy of Passport or ID GMAT/GRE or SDA Test

GMAT and GRE: the last date an applicant can take the GMAT or GRE and still be considered for the 2014/2015 Global Executive MBA is September 2013, according to

the first deadline, and December 2013, according to the second deadline. When taking the test, applicants

must specify the SDA Bocconi name. This will allow our Admissions Service to receive the results directly. The GMAT identification code for the Global Executive MBA is 3WJL8-63. The GRE identification code is 3710. Results obtained before 2008 are no longer valid.

SDA Test: as an exception candidates can ask the Admissions Service the authorization to take the SDA Test as an alternative to the GMAT/GRE. This test, offered in English, is run by SDA Bocconi and assesses quantitative, logical and verbal skills. Enrolment for the test is organized directly through the Admissions Service after submission of the application.

Proficiency in English

All applicants must have good written and spoken English and must demonstrate their level of knowledge by taking either the TOEFL or IELTS or PTE Academic or CPE test. A test result may be waived for mother-tongue English speakers and for students who took their degree in English or can document significant professional experience in an English-speaking country.

Candidates for the 2014/2015 edition of the Program must take the test by September 2013, according to

the first deadline, and December 2013, according to the second deadline. At the test site, you will

need to specify that you want your results sent directly to SDA Bocconi (for TOEFL by indicating our School Code 0698, for PTE by indicating our School Code R7G-6R-23). If you have already taken the test, the original results must be sent to SDA Bocconi. Results obtained before 2008 are no longer valid. For further information,

Interview

Candidates will be required to have an interview with a member of the SDA Bocconi Admissions Committee. In special cases the interview may take place remotely (by telephone or with webcam).

Application for Sponsor Companies

This is to be completed by a company representative (using the “Application for the sponsor company form”) only if the company intends to back the participation in the Program of a candidate through partial or total payment of the tuition fee.

The application for admission must be accompanied by:

• F o u r p a s s p o r t - s i z e p h o t o g r a p h s o n a l i g h t background and signed on the back

• Payment of the € 150 application fee (using the “Admission process payment form”. The Application fee is not refundable).

The Selection Result

Once the selection process is complete, the Admissions Service will inform the candidates of the result of their application in writing. In no case will the result be communicated by telephone. The selection process will yield one of the following three results:

Admission

If accepted, the candidate will receive an official letter of a d m i s s i o n t o t h e P r o g r a m a n d a c o n t r a c t f o r participation. If all the available places have been filled, the School may decide to place the candidate on a waiting list, or offer admission for the next edition.

Deferment

Admission to the Program is valid only for the year in which the application is submitted. Deferment may be requested for the year following the application, but confirmation of admission is at the discretion of the Admissions Committee.

Non-Admission

Admission to the Program is highly selective. The selection process assesses the profile of the individual candidate, but also takes into account the composition of the Global Executive MBA, which must be consistent with the quality and diversity promoted by SDA Bocconi. While fully aware of the commitment that all candidates make in the admissions process, SDA Bocconi does not provide individual answers to nonadmitted candidates.

Your Commitment to the Global Executive MBA

The Global Executive MBA allows you to work and study at the same time. In class-modules alternate with distance learning for a total of 20 months.

Financial Commitment

The total tuition fee is € 58.000, and is paid in five instalments:

1st_instalment: € 11,600 upon acceptance of your

admission to the Program 2nd_instalment: € 11,600 by 31 March 2014

3rd_instalment: € 11,600 by 29 September 2014

4th_instalment: € 11,600 by 30 January 2015

5th_instalment: € 11,600 by 29 May 2015.

The fee includes tutorials, teaching materials, the use of the School’s support facilities and the accommodation for the modules taught abroad. Travel expenses for accommodation in Milan are not included. Each participant must have his/her own laptop.

SDA Bocconi School of Management reserves the right to cancel the Program with the only obligation to refund the first instalment and with no further liabilities on its part.
