2016 ISONG Congress Objectives

• To articulate genetic and genomic knowledge and its translation into nursing practice, research, and education. • To recognize bioethical issues surrounding genetics and its application in nursing practice, education and research.

Abstract Printed Booklet

New this year to the ISONG World Congress – An opportunity to be the sponsor of the printed abstract booklet for the

attendees. Your company or institution logo will be prominently displayed in this brochure. A highly requested addition to the

program from the attendees—be the first to sponsor this opportunity!

Poster Blitz Session

“Poster Blitz” a fast paced session that will provide each poster presenter with the opportunity to orally present their work to Congress attendees during the concurrent sessions! Poster presenters will be allotted a 3-5 minute time slot to give a brief overview of their work. Following the Poster Blitz, poster presenters will be available to answer questions and interact with Congress attendees. Printed posters will also be on display throughout the congress. This was a new session in our 2015 Congress Program and due to the attendee feedback the Poster Blitz Session will be featured again this year.

ISONG Genetic Nursing Research Grant Awards

The purpose of the annual ISONG Genetic Nursing Research Grant award is to support research related to genetic nursing practice or that which contributes to the development of genetic nursing science. All grant submissions undergo rigorous peer review by a committee of Research Committee members and the annual awards will be awarded for $2,500 (for each award). These awards will be presented at the 2016 Congress. Grant information including past awards can be found at www.ISONG.org.

ISONG Research Initiatives

Fostering scientific research in genetics is an important part of ISONG’s mission. ISONG, as an organization, is working to fund a grant for early career researchers and other research opportunities. Supporting the ISONG Congress Raffle will support the fund
