PartyLite Advertising and Internet

Policy for PartyLite Independent

Consultants

Advertising & Internet Policy

Advertising your PartyLite business is not just a reflection of you but of PartyLite and every fellow PartyLite Consultant. This policy is not meant to restrict the promotion of your business but rather provide guidelines that respect and protect each and every Consultant’s business. These guidelines include careful use of all PartyLite trademarks and logos. You must act in accordance with the following policies to guide how you use the PartyLite name in advertising in print and on the Internet.

Advertising is a business investment with lots of potential, but no guarantees. Be patient, and consider testing different media to determine which are most effective for you.

Remember, some of the best advertising remains “work of mouth,” which is why your excellent Customer service and follow-up in invaluable.

Beyond the face-to-face contact and personal networking you do, there is an increasing value in networking through social media forums, such as Facebook and Twitter.

On social media sites, find a friendly, consistent (not constant) way to direct people to your Web site, where you can follow up to convert each lead into at least one of the following: Customer, Host, new Consultant.

An expanding source of leads that PartyLite Leaders can take advantage of are those

generated by PartyLite through public relations, Facebook, Twitter and blogging. All leads that come to PartyLite.com are dispersed to the nearest S/RVP or Leader.

Media/Public Relations Policy & Procedures

Media Policy

Occasionally, a member of the media will contact a Consultant or Leader to ask for an interview or request information about PartyLite. If someone from a newspaper, magazine, radio station, or television station calls you, please follow the approved PartyLite procedure:

• Do not agree to an interview or even a comment for the record. Ask the person if you may have a PartyLite Public Relations representative contact him/her.

• Try to get any information that may be helpful to PartyLite in determining how we’ll handle the call. You’ll want to get the name and location of the paper, magazine, or station, a contact name and phone number, and some basic information about what they want (someone to appear on a TV program, a newspaper article about a product, etc.).

• Call your Leader with the above information. Leaders should then call their Senior/Regional Vice President with the details.

• The Senior Regional Vice President or Regional Vice President will then call the Home Office with the information. The Home Office has a system in place for follow-through on media calls.

Please follow this procedure in all cases. Unfortunately, some members of the media may misinterpret information given to them about the Company or the Opportunity with PartyLite. We want everyone – the Company, other Consultants and Leaders, and YOU – to be presented in the best light by the press, so please let the Home Office handle it.

Public Relations Policy

Press Releases may be sent out from the Home Office in the following circumstances: • When a new product line is released (press kit with press release, product photos and

Catalog to select newspapers and national women’s and decorating magazines). • When a Leader attains the level of Senior Regional Vice President or Regional Vice

(7)

• When a Consultant or Leader qualifies among the top three, nationwide, for the Annual Circle of Excellence (personalized press release to the qualifier’s local newspaper[s]). • When a Consultant or Leader qualifies for the Sylvia or Julie Awards (personalized press

release to the qualifier’s local newspaper[s]). • Other select circumstances as appropriate.

Note: (1) The publication of any information sent from PartyLite is at the discretion of the publication to which the information is sent. (2) PartyLite recognizes its Leaders and Consultants in a variety of ways (newsletters, Web site, or at meetings), this information is intended for PartyLite use only, as such all information (except if publicly disclosed in a press release by the Company) should be deemed confidential.
