Integrated user memory

The following memory areas are available in the S7-1200:

§ Load memory (retentive) – For the user program, data and configuration.

§ Work memory (non retentive) – For some data used and changed by the PLC during execution of the user program.

§ Retentive memory – Storage of a imitated data volume when PLC is powered off.

Memory card - 4 / 12 / 24MB … 32GB

(SD card – FAT32 file system)

Can be configured or 3 types of operation:

§ Program card – Replaces the internal load memory allowing a higher capacity (use of data logging, user web pages,…)

§ Transfer card – For the copy of the program in the load memory without need of a PC.

§ Firmware update card – Update of the S7-1200 PLC firmware as well as the connected devices
