Pro-Watch Software Version 3.4 Build 2252 Release Notes

** Please back up the PWNT database prior to any upgrades

** Please note that this version of Pro-Watch now utilizes a UNICODE database, the structure of the UNICODE

database is double that of the standard SQL database. Upgrading Pro-Watch from any version prior to this

will result in a database size double that of previous.

** Pro-Watch does not support the WSE 818SX controller, please contact NexWatch customer service for

firmware to upgrade the 818SX to an 818SC.

** In order for the full functionality described in this document to apply, any upgrades must be done from

Pro-Watch Release 3 with Service Pack 1 (Build 2051) or higher. Please contact your NexWatch

representative if the version running is prior to this for an upgrade.

New Features:

Custom Badge Tools

Designed to allow users the flexibility to have predetermined field’s effect the appearance of the badge type

for printing. This can be used when a company has a standard badge for employees, but designated various

jobs, positions, rankings, etc through a method of badge variance.

Batch Modify of Badge Records

This will allow for the users to globally modify a selected badge field to represent a specific value. For

example if a system currently has a field listed that will be standard for all badge records (e.g. office phone)

and a change is required, this utility will allow for the changes to be made.

Export of BLOB Images

When configuring Pro-Watch for video badging, the user has the ability to select the method of image storage.

The user can use the BLOB storage to embed the images into the SQL database. This utility will now allow

for the embedded images to be exported and converted to the users preferred file format.

Document Import

A document import tool has been created where the user has the ability to import or acquire a document or

image from a twain device (e.g. scanner, digital camera, or web camera) and have the data stored as an

image in the Pro-Watch database. This has been implemented with the theory that users can now store

copies of an employee’s driver’s license, job application, or other pertinent data in the Pro-Watch database.

PW-5000 Elevator Support

An Elevator Control module has been implemented for use with the PW-5000 controllers. This module offers

either standard Elevator access control, or Elevator access control with floor selection.

Custom PW-5000 Resistor Threshold Values

The ability to add custom EOL settings for any input point on a native PW-5000 module (PW5K1R1,

PW5K1R2, and PW5K1IN) has been implemented. This allows for individual resistance values to be

assigned without the use of custom EOL assignment outside of the controller.

Digital Video (VAST) Integration

The Digital VAST digital video recording system from ADEMCO Video has been incorporated. This will allow

the recording and playback of camera events through the Pro-Watch application.

(2)

VideoBlox CCTV Matrix Support

The addition of the VideoBlox CCTV switcher has been implemented. This switcher from ADEMCO Video

allows for all standard CCTV functions, and is included in the application at no additional charge.

Custom User Tabs

The ability to add two additional user defined tabs with sixteen columns to the Company database. This

allows for the user to enter data on a company beyond that of the address and contact information currently

available.

Unicode Database

The Pro-Watch database has been converted to a Unicode format. The main benefit for this new code base

is to allow for expedited foreign language translations.

PW-5000 Timed Anti-Passback Support

Beyond the standard Hard or Soft Anti-Passback support users have the ability to offer a timed Anti-Passback

when using the PW-5000 controller. This allows for the Anti-Passback rules to adhere to a predetermined

timeline.

Additional Items to Note:

• New firmware for the PW-5000 Intelligent Controller has been included in this version.

The version 1.054 is included as the default in the registry and supports “Cyhper Mode”

and “Timed Override” on native PW-5000 readers.

• New sub-panel firmware is included, but only needed if using Dorado card readers.

• The Pro-Watch registry has been updated in that all unused entries have been removed.

• The integration tot he VAST digital recorder has been designed for use with VAST

software versions 1.9.3 and newer. If your VAST software is older version, please

contact your NexWatch representative for an upgrade.

• Variable Timed Unlock has been implemented where a door strike can have up to 255

seconds, and no limits apply to alarm shunt time.

• A checkbox has been included in the PW-5000 main panel screen for “Pro-Watch LED

Scheme”. This allows for the LED functionality to no longer “flash” upon various card

reads, but follow a set disposition.

• If a user enables the database-auditing feature, the application must restarted before any

auditing will occur.

• If restoring an archive from a Pro-Watch Release 2 database into Release 4, any rows in

the archive that contain commas will be skipped. This restore process can be

accomplished by using the new “Legacy Restore Utility” in the Administration section of

the application under Executables.

• Dial-In support for SEEP control panels has not been implemented in this release. This

feature will be included in a forthcoming service pack.

• In badging, when users search for badge holders, a new search screen appears. This

new screen allows for fast searching of Badgeholders based off of badge fields defined in

the Badge Profile.

• When designing badges using the badge designer, logic can now be applied to objects

placed on the badge telling the renderer whether to display the object or not.

• The badge screen has been enlarged allowing for more data to be viewable per tab.
