External Campaign is:
•
E.g. e-mail campaign, paid search, banner or QR code on external sites like Google, Facebook,
etc.
•
Tracked by using Campaign ID parameter (CID parameter). CID gives information about which
campaign directed the visitor to the site.
The CID format should strictly follow one of the five formats in the table below. If running a campaign other
than the below five, discuss with your RHQ Analytics. Parameters in brackets <> need to be modified.

* If you wish to add more information about the campaign in the tracking code, you may insert one more
fields at the end as following:

Tracking code should be in
lower case
and date format should be
YYYYMMDD
.
Maximum length of tracking code is
100 characters.
Tracking code
should not contain any blank space and special characters such as &, +, =, ?, #, or %
.
No other underscore (_) besides those used in the given pre-format can be used.
Make sure that
the destination page has Adobe Analytics code (s_code) implemented.
You may not use
redirection method
as it is prohibited
by Samsung policy.

The operator for CID parameter is “?”. For CID code insertion, please follow the example below:

Case: email campaign
• If the destination URL uses the ‘?’ operator already, use ‘&’ instead and then add CID parameter.
e.g.) http://www.samsung.com/sg/smarttv/index.htm?pagetype=main&cid=sg_email_smarttv_20110602
• But in case of Flash-based pages, use ‘&’ instead of ‘&’.
e.g.) http://www.samsung.com/sg/smarttv/index.htm?pagetype=main&cid=sg_email_smarttv_20110602
Note: If the destination URL is pointing to a folder and not to a file, make sure this URL is closed by a front slash ‘/’.
e.g.) http://www.samsung.com/sg/smarttv/ and not http://www.samsung.com/sg/smarttv
The landing page of samsung.com must contain Adobe Analytics Codes (s_code) in order
to capture cid parameter value.
* In case the landing page is flash_based, Adobe Analytics codes should be implemented on HTML
page. Please be noted that on this type of page,
redirection method cannot be applied as it is
prohibited by policy.
