Video Journalism Internship Fall 2012
The Frist Center’s Video Journalism internship is designed to introduce participants to the field of fine arts feature production by providing hands-on experience in a unique learning environment. Video Journalism interns will gain valuable experience by working with the Frist Center’s graphic designer/videographer in collaboration with the Communications Department to produce in-house feature packages from start to finish. Interns will be involved in the processes of planning, designing, and editing a variety of exhibition and event-related videos for online promotion of the Frist Center across a variety of platforms which include the Frist Center’s website, Facebook, YouTube, Ustream, Vimeo and StageIt.
Requirements: To apply for the Frist Center Internship Program, students must be: • Enrolled at a college or university when applying
• Proficiency with DSLR video cameras, sound and lighting equipment • Experience with non-linear editing in Final Cut Pro 7 and/or X
• Submission of an online or DVD-based demo reel to showcase range of talents
• Availability 2-3 weekdays, 3-4 hours at a time Example intern projects:
• Assist in-house videographer with projects as needed
• Assist in producing This Week at the Frist weekly “newscast” in English and Spanish
• Shoot and edit interviews with curators, staff members, guest artists • Create feature packages for Frist Center website and possible service to
commercial television and public broadcast outlets
Important Dates:

Internship End Date: December 14, 2012
Length of Internship: 12-16 weeks (depending on start date) Required Commitment: 8 hours/week minimum
Stipend: No stipends are available.
Eligibility: Any student currently enrolled in a College or University. Preference given to Junior or Senior level college and university students, graduate students and international students Application Process:
